Shaakira is a Licensed Practitioner in the State of Pa with over twenty years' experience in Behavioral Health. Her modality is Holistic Therapy which supports the alignment of Mind (Mental Health), Body, (Physical Health), Emotional and Spiritual. Ailments is not an isolated problem, an imbalance in one aspect of self-causes distress in the other. This practice brings a harmonious alignment to all elements of a person. With a Dual Master's in Social Work and Public Health, Shaakira is trained to examine the entire person including family dynamics, the effects of trauma, socialization, ecology, and environment. As a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional she will treat the symptoms of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder while educating you on the effects of chronic stress on the body and mind. Her prescription is meditation and self-awareness, to dig into layers of stored emotions and to challenge cognitive distortions and limiting beliefs. In addition, as a Board-Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist, Shaakira can offer guided hypnosis to facilitate awareness of the subconscious mind. I genuinely love Shaakira! I appreciate that she’s solution oriented and is able to explain the ‘why’ behind a possible solution. She is the 4th therapist I have seen. In the past, I only connected to the 1st therapist. She is authentic, humorous, empowering while still having solution-oriented methods that challenge me just enough. She feels relatable and that makes it easier for me to be my honest self. When we finish our session, I feel like I am on the road to recovery and like I have accomplished something even if all we did was talk.
