LPC, 10 years of experience
Healing can be intimidating; but also unimaginably life changing for the better. My name is Danielle Turner (she/her) and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with a master’s degree in clinical Mental Health Counseling. I am currently working towards her PhD in Counselor Supervision and Education. I am also basic trained in EMDR (per EMDRIA's standards and requirements) in order to best treat individuals suffering from trauma and a number of other presentations. I have multiple years of experience treating clients who are anxious, depressed, have experienced loss and or trauma (physical, verbal or sexual), suffer from mood disorders, and psychotic disorders. I have also worked with clients experiencing a life changing event, struggling with addiction or those seeking support who identify as LGBTQIA+. I also specialize in helping clients manage stressors of today's climate, including religious prejudice or systemic racism
In our first session I will be getting to know you and your goals. I may ask some personal questions and encourage you to answer at your level of comfortability. As we build a safe space together, clients find themselves more able to share. You will have the opportunity to ask any questions you may have for me as well. We will also discuss availability and scheduling. Please note that if you are 10 minutes late or more to a session (without notice) the session will count as a cancellation, and you will need to reschedule your appointment.
I believe one of my biggest strengths is my ability to build the therapeutic relationship with clients. I encourage clients to accept themselves and help them to work through challenges. I specialize in LGBTQIA+ issues, depression, anxiety, and trauma. I also enjoy working with counseling students struggling with the challenges of school and working in the field.
I love working with individuals who are motivated towards treatment. I specialize in working with clients experiencing depression and or anxiety as well as those that identify as LGBTQIA+. I also help clients navigate their experiences with trauma to help them to foster healing in many different areas of their lives. Come as you are.
We will process, challenge, and replace distorted or irrational thinking patterns in order to alleviate distress from subsequent emotional and behavioral responses. We will explore the relationship between your thinking patterns, feelings, and emotions.
Utilizes bilateral stimulation to reprocess trauma allowing clients to reduce the impact trauma has on their lives in the here and now.
This modality may be utilized to help clients learn to self-regulate, self-sooth, and process intense emotions when they feel safe and ready.
