Hi, I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) Based out of Texas. Licensed both in Texas and Pennsylvania. I have been working in the mental health field for over 10 years. I specialize primarily in working with individuals that struggle with trauma and anxiety. With experience in various types of trauma, I have partnered with many individuals to help them learn how to navigate life. My goal is to empower the individual through learning coping skills that are the right fit for the person.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session we will take the time to get to know each other. I truly believe that therapy is about knowing what works best for the client and learning how to communicate with each other. I will ask some basic questions, and then we will set goals that we will work on together over time. My goal is to build a therapeutic relationship that allows the individual to feel safe, heard and welcomed.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

Being a listener that truly wants to hear what someone is saying and understand the emotions behind those words has been something that I feel has truly allowed me to provide a very therapeutic environment within my sessions. I am intentional in how I conduct myself, I want to be sincere in my conversation, my body language and tone. I want my clients to know that they can approach me and are valued simply because they exist, not because of who they are or what they bring to the session. Being authentic is something I strive for daily both in my personal and professional life.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I love to work with adults at any stage of life. My dream client is truly a person that is seeking to learn how to work through the trauma that has left them feeling stuck, or overwhelmed in life. I want to allow others to become the best versions of themselves.

Heather has been such a safe space for me. I’ve had bad experiences in the past with therapy but I immediately knew I was safe with Heather. She has been helping me with my childhood trauma and given me coping skills to heal my inner child and get through day to day life! I absolutely would recommend Heather to anyone struggling and needing a comforting, kind person to talk to!

My treatment methods

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

Mindfulness is a way of using our everyday lives as a coping skill. I utilize what the client already has on hand to incorporate coping skills as a means for decreasing anxiety, panic, stress and various other mental struggles. I taught Mindfulness group therapy for two years, and since transitioned to using this within individual sessions for the past 8 years.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have been using CBT for over 10 years. I tend to find that this method of therapy seeps into my everyday therapy style without much thought. I like to let the client speak and then help that individual think through those emotions that were brought up while talking. We will use various thoughts, feelings and senses to help them come to an idea to help with healing. We go at the client's pace. I try to make sure we move at a pace that is comforting to the client.
