Life transitions, relationships in flux, maybe you haven't felt like yourself recently. Navigating hard emotions that keep you up a night, or preoccupy thinking, might be holding you back from enjoying activities and relationships you once did. Reasons for seeking therapy are unique and individual to you. You are deserving of a therapist who will build a space for you to be vulnerable with your story and emotions. Together, we can build a path forward through empathetic processing, acceptance, skill building, and goal planning. Therapy is like a compass, it doesn't provide all the answers, but it provides direction. Focusing on your strengths, presenting problem, and future goals, our time together will be spent targeting false thoughts, realizing potential, and building trust in yourself.

I have worked in the treatment since i was 36 and have 35 years of experience. My early experience was in the drug and alcohol and relapse prevention field. During that time i attended the Gestalt Institute in Cleveland, Ohio where I took 4 years of intense training. This lead me to find that therapy is not a method for me to figure out the client but a means for the client to gain greater self-awareness in facing their own life aspirations and struggles. I place focus on clients’ somatic awareness, especially breath, so being more in their body so they can try on new physical and intellectual styles in facing their world. I have a lot of knowledge about what is called the 12 step process and have melded together spirituality and religion in my own life. Prior to being a counselor/ therapist i taught school, painted steel bridges and other structures, and was a machinist at a large steel company, that like the many in our area have since closed their shops.

I am a full-time school counselor, but work part-time as a therapist. Prior to becoming a school counselor, I worked in the mental health field for over 15 years in multiple roles. I enjoy helping adolescents and young adults who are experiencing anxiety, depression, and other mental health concerns to identify strategies that allow them to manage and/or overcome these concerns. I tend to use an eclectic mix of person-centered therapy, solution-focused therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy when working with clients. I also have been trained in mindfulness to assist my clients. I also understand the difficulties one might face related to the current societal climate as it relates to LGBTQ+ population and race. I believe it is important for clients to have a safe space to share the microaggressions, discrimination, and/or hate that one may face. I believe that I can be that safe space for all individuals. In my free-time, I am enjoy spending time with my family. During this time, we like to do things outdoors, such as playing pickleball, hiking, paddleboarding, or just relaxing.

I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor with 18 years of experience supporting children, teens, adults, and older adults. I’ve worked in a wide range of mental health settings—including inpatient and outpatient programs, schools, juvenile detention, family-based services, universities, prisons, and private practice—which has given me a deep understanding of how mental health needs evolve across the lifespan. After seeing how limited access to care was in rural Pennsylvania, I became an early advocate for telemental health. Today, I offer both virtual and in-person counseling, giving clients the flexibility to choose what feels most comfortable and accessible for them. Starting my own practice during the pandemic allowed me to create a healthier work-life balance while dedicating my full attention to providing compassionate, high-quality care. My goal is to meet you where you are, help you feel understood, and support you in building the tools you need to move forward with confidence and peace.

I am an autistic therapist, which is important to mention as my communication style may differ from what you are accustomed to. I am very direct and honest, and my guidance is grounded in research and the lived experiences of other clients. My therapeutic approach is centered on helping you define your current purpose. I employ a client-centered approach, cognitive behavioral techniques, and existentialism to ensure you feel heard, seen, and valued. Together, we will embark on a journey of self-discovery and personal growth. I am pleased that you are here, and I look forward to working with you. I began my education in research psychology before entering counseling. Now, I am a Community Counselor. I have spent my time as a therapist side by side with people in their homes, in their schools, at their workplace, and out in the community. I have worked with people on the Autism Spectrum, with ADHD, depression, mood disorders, and end of life issues. My approach to helping has always been to help you define your current purpose. You may look like you’re holding everything together while privately feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or stuck in patterns you can’t seem to change. Maybe you’re navigating anxiety or depression, the impact of substance use in your life or relationships, difficult family dynamics, or questions about faith, identity, and who you are outside of others’ expectations. I specialize in helping adults understand the patterns that have shaped them while developing healthier relationships with themselves and others. I have particular experience working with substance use and recovery, codependency, relationship and family patterns, shame, identity, and harmful or high-control religious experiences. My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and strengths-based. Therapy isn’t one-size-fits-all, and I tailor our work to your needs, values, and goals. Together, we’ll make sense of what has brought you here while helping you move toward a life that feels more grounded, authentic, and aligned with who you truly are. Seeking greater serenity in your life takes courage. You don’t have to have everything figured out before you begin.
