About me

Hi, I’m Tricia, a licensed clinical social worker who works with women navigating anxiety, overwhelm, relationship challenges, life transitions, and the pressure to have it all together. Many of my clients are thoughtful, driven, and used to being the person others can count on, but internally may feel stuck, disconnected from themselves, or unsure of what they truly want. My approach is warm, collaborative, and down-to-earth, drawing from CBT, mindfulness, EMDR, strengths-based therapy, and trauma-informed care. I also pay close attention to the mind-body connection because our bodies can often reveal what words alone cannot. I will support you, challenge you, and call out the patterns that keep showing up so you can stay focused on what matters to you. My goal is to help you better understand yourself, feel more like yourself again, trust your own voice, feel more confident in your decisions, and create a life that feels more connected to what you truly want.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

The first session is really about getting to know each other and beginning to understand what brought you to therapy. We’ll talk about what has been going on in your life, what you’re hoping might feel different, gathering history, and any patterns or experiences that feel important for me to understand. There’s no pressure to tell me your entire life story or dive into something before you feel ready. I want you to leave the first session feeling heard, supported, comfortable, and a little clearer about what our work together could look like. We’ll also begin identifying goals for therapy while leaving room for those goals to evolve as we learn more about what you need.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I bring warmth, curiosity, empathy, and a genuine interest in getting to know each person beyond what may be bringing them to therapy. I work to create a space where clients can show up as they are without feeling like they need to have the right words or have everything figured out. I believe therapy can hold space for the hard and uncomfortable things while still leaving room to laugh, be human, and not take ourselves too seriously. I value being genuine with my clients and creating a relationship where they feel comfortable showing up as themselves. I’m naturally curious and enjoy helping clients look beneath the surface to better understand their emotions, patterns, relationships, and the connection between what is happening in their minds and bodies. I also bring a balance of support and challenge, I’ll meet you where you are while also gently challenging you when I notice patterns, beliefs, or thoughts that may be keeping you stuck. Above all, I see therapy as collaborative. I’m not here to tell you how to live your life or give you all the answers. I’m here to work alongside you, offer tools and perspective, ask thoughtful questions, and help you strengthen your ability to understand and trust yourself.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

My ideal client is someone who may look like they have things together on the outside but internally feels anxious, overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected from themselves. They may be navigating a life transition, relationship challenges, burnout, perfectionism, people-pleasing, or uncertainty about what they want next. I especially enjoy working with women who are thoughtful, self-aware, and curious about themselves but may have spent a lot of time prioritizing other people’s needs, expectations, or opinions. They might find themselves overthinking decisions, questioning their instincts, or knowing something needs to change without being sure what that change looks like.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients better understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Together, we look at patterns that may be contributing to anxiety, self-doubt, perfectionism, people-pleasing, or feeling stuck. Rather than simply trying to replace “negative” thoughts with positive ones, I use CBT as a way to build awareness and curiosity. We may explore where certain beliefs come from, question whether they are still serving you, and practice responding to situations in new ways. The goal is to help you recognize patterns sooner, develop more helpful ways of navigating them, and feel more confident in the choices you make.

EMDR

I use EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) to help clients process experiences that may still be impacting how they feel, think, or respond in the present. Sometimes we understand logically why we react a certain way, but our emotions or bodies continue to respond as though an old experience is still happening. EMDR allows us to go beyond simply talking about an experience and work with how it has been stored in the brain and body. I use EMDR at a pace that feels comfortable for each client, incorporating grounding, nervous system awareness, and other therapeutic approaches throughout the process. The goal is not to erase what happened, but to help those experiences feel less emotionally charged so they have less influence over how you see yourself, your relationships, and your life today.

Somatic

I incorporate somatic and mind-body approaches to help clients become more aware of how emotions, stress, and experiences show up in their bodies, not just in their thoughts. Sometimes our bodies notice something before our minds have the words to explain it. In sessions, we may slow down and pay attention to physical sensations, emotional shifts, breathing, or changes in the nervous system. I help clients become curious about these signals rather than immediately trying to change or push them away. We may also practice grounding, mindfulness, and nervous system regulation strategies that can be used outside of therapy. The goal is to help you better understand your own internal cues, feel more connected to yourself, and develop a greater sense of choice in how you respond to emotions, relationships, and stressful situations.

Strength-Based

I use strengths-based therapy to help clients recognize the strengths, skills, and internal resources they already have, especially when stress, anxiety, or self-doubt can make those qualities harder to see. Rather than focusing only on what feels “wrong” or needs to change, we also explore what is already working, how you have navigated challenges in the past, and what those experiences can teach you about yourself. I help clients build on those strengths while developing new tools and perspectives along the way. The goal is to help you see yourself more fully, build confidence in your ability to handle difficult situations, and strengthen trust in yourself and your own capacity to create meaningful change.

Trauma Informed Care

I use trauma-informed care to create a space that prioritizes safety, trust, choice, and collaboration. I recognize that past experiences can shape the way we see ourselves, relate to others, and respond to situations in the present even when we may not consciously connect those reactions to what we’ve been through. I approach therapy with curiosity about what you’ve experienced, how you learned to cope, and what your responses may have helped you navigate or protect yourself from in the past. I pay close attention to your comfort level and pace, and you always have a say in what we explore and when. The goal is to help you better understand your responses without judgment, build a greater sense of safety and trust within yourself, and develop new ways of navigating your emotions, relationships, and experiences.
