My name is Jaylee and I am a Licensed Professional Therapist. I have a variety of experience working with anxiety, depression, parents and children, as well as young adults. I utilize the most appropriate method of treatment to you during the session, with empathy and understanding. I like to look at the “whole person” and not just the presenting issue that brought you to consider making a positive change!

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In your first session, we will discuss what brings you to therapy and what changes you expect to see. I want to help guide you in the direction you wish to take and that can’t be possible without the first session!

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Having experience that encompasses multiple age ranges and populations, I feel I have what it takes to take you to the next level. I have most experience working with ages 2-26, in various settings.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I work with those who want a down-to-earth, relaxed, and supportive atmosphere, while also helping them become the best person they can. No positive change comes without taking action and responsibility, so when you work with me, keep in mind that I expect you to be accountable!

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): I use CBT to help clients recognize and change unhelpful thought patterns and behaviors. It’s particularly useful for clients dealing with anxiety, depression, or stress-related issues, as it empowers them to challenge distorted thinking and develop healthier coping strategies.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT): I turn to DBT when working with clients who struggle with intense emotions or self-destructive behaviors, such as those with borderline personality disorder or emotion regulation difficulties. DBT combines acceptance and change strategies, and its focus on mindfulness, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness can help clients build emotional resilience and create positive changes in their relationships.

Parent-Child Interaction (PCIT)

Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT): PCIT is a great tool when working with families, especially children with behavioral problems. I use PCIT to strengthen the parent-child relationship, improve parenting skills, and reduce disruptive behaviors in children. It’s an effective way to support families in building better communication and enhancing positive behaviors at home.

Motivational Interviewing

Motivational Interviewing (MI): Motivational Interviewing is my go-to approach when clients are ambivalent about making changes in their lives, especially when it comes to behaviors like substance use, health issues, or life transitions. MI helps explore and resolve ambivalence, guiding clients to tap into their own motivations for change and helping them move toward their goals with confidence.
