Call me Ben! I've been in private practice for 5 years and the mental health field at-large for close to a decade. I live in Asheville, North Carolina with my wife and our two cats. I love to go hiking and kayaking, I own a record store where I also work, and love a good gaming session with my friends.

Hi, I’m Pete Cianci, LCSW, a licensed psychotherapist based in North Carolina. I work with adults who are ready to feel better and make meaningful changes in their lives. I believe therapy should be practical, clear, and focused on real results.
I use proven approaches like cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, and acceptance and commitment therapy. In simple terms, that means we’ll look at how your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors connect—and I’ll teach you skills you can use right away. I strongly believe therapy doesn’t have to feel like a mystery. When you understand how your mind works and learn tools that fit your life, change becomes much more possible.
My goal is to help you feel better as efficiently as possible while still feeling supported and understood along the way.
**ACCEPTING NEW CLIENTS** Are you ready to break free from the weight of anxiety and depression to show up in your life as your best self? I provide a safe, compassionate, and non-judgmental space for you to explore your challenges, gain clarity, and take meaningful steps toward the life you desire. Laurie is passionate about helping individuals, couples, and families navigate life’s challenges and discover new ways to heal, grow, and thrive. She understands that starting therapy can feel overwhelming, and that healing is rarely a straight path. Life ebbs and flows, and therapy is much the same—at times you may feel momentum, while at other times roadblocks may arise. Laurie meets clients where they are with patience, creativity, and encouragement, helping them move forward at their own pace.
Laurie creates a warm, safe, and supportive environment where clients feel comfortable exploring emotions, challenges, and goals. Hello! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who's been servicing the mental health needs of individuals and groups for over 15 years. I graduated with my undergraduates in Psychology and Spanish, followed by my Master's of Science in Social Work, and ended with my Doctorate of Clinical Leadership in Social Work. I help people deal with day to day life challenges brought on by mental health concerns in our lives, sometimes due to trauma or significant events in our lives. My experience initiated working with multi-ethnic children in foster group homes, adults in the Dallas area, women, and more recently with active duty military personnel. I help my clients process and heal from trauma using various methods to meet each person where they are at. Providing therapy is a privilege for me. I'd love to see if I may be of service to you and your needs right where you are currently in you own life journey. Please schedule a session if you're interested in working together. Hello, I'm a counselor with a background in Forensic Psychology, having worked in the field since 2004. I have the privilege of serving a diverse range of clients from various ethnicities, racial backgrounds, and socioeconomic classes. My approach is non-judgmental, patient, and easy-going, creating a safe space where you can feel heard and understood. With many years of experience working in correctional settings, particularly with individuals in acute crisis, I am passionate about helping you navigate challenges, find solutions, and work towards lasting positive change. My goal is to empower you to take control of your well-being and move forward with confidence.
I got my MA in Dance/Movement Therapy and Clinical Mental Health Counseling in 2009 and have since worked mostly in community mental health. I'm excited to move more fully into working with women in transitional spaces of life looking for support and validation about their desires and next steps. My work with midlife women navigating perimenopause, family life, jobs and older family members has been the most fulfilling work I've ever done. Caring for the caregivers so that they may find the freedom and creativity in their lives to set boundaries, use their voices and make intentional choices based on what they KNOW that they need is the way to set free a group of women who never intended to imprrison themselves in a life they didn't fully consciously choose.
Life has a way of nudging us to grow, pause, and ask deeper questions—especially when things feel hard or uncertain. No matter your age or stage, those moments are part of being human. My approach to counseling is eclectic and collaborative, grounded in creating a space where you can show up as you are and feel genuinely supported. Together, we’ll sort through what’s going on, build tools to help you cope, and find ways to move forward that feel meaningful and realistic for you.
I work with people navigating burnout, midlife transitions, imposter syndrome, anxiety, depression, and relationship challenges. I bring both clinical insight and a real, human presence to the work (and yes, sometimes that includes a little well-placed profanity). I’m especially passionate about understanding how our early family experiences shape the way we live, love, and work. I truly believe that when the right space is created, therapy can help you reconnect with yourself in powerful, lasting ways.

Having an open mind and listening to my clients helps me to relate and understand them and develop a treatment plan or plan of action with them that makes them feel comfortable.
I have an extensive history helping individuals understand their career path, educational needs, and learning life skills. I have a passion for mental health because of the family history with depression, schizophrenia, anxiety, and substance abuse, and it drives me to want to help others.

Trauma has haunted you for years. It’s left you with nightmares and flashbacks. It’s caused you to distrust others and push them away. It’s made you feel broken and hopeless. You’ve tried everything you can think of to shed the weight of the past. You’ve read the books, tried the life hacks… You may have even talked to a therapist. But now, you’re out of options. Nothing has helped you transition from being a survivor to someone who’s truly alive. And you’re all talked out. No matter how many times you tell your story, nothing changes. The search for relief is exhausting. This might be your last shot at getting help.
