When I was in my undergraduate studies, I fell in love with the idea that people have abilities, rather than handicap. Then I went to my master's program in Rehabilitation Counseling, and I loved that people get chances to improve their lives. I love seeing my people thrive and learn to live their best lives. I love catching people doing great.

Providing therapy, being a listener and helping others in essence found me. I did not initially plan to become a therapist but I am so happy and proud I did. I receive joy from being able to find the right words and work through the issue with my client. Therapy is a very important tool, whether it is intensive treatment or being a supportive ear. I have worked in the helping field for over 20 years. Beginning my career with developmentally delayed, then preventive services, foster care, Autism spectrum and currently providing child and adult psychiatric services. I enjoy the reward of helping! As a client of mine, you should expect a learning and judgment free space. A space where you will be understandably hesitant yet free and understood. I've dedicated my career to becoming a better therapist for my clients by learning about other cultures and aspects of life that contribute to our mental health. In our work together, I aim to provide the best approaches to reach your goals and ultimately leave feeling complete and refreshed. With my years of experience, I have helped many clients and couples understand themselves in different ways than they started and make positive changes that they hoped for. Understanding how difficult it is to be open and vulnerable, it is especially important for me to be patient and increase my abilities with engagement. I strive for understanding, respect and authenticity in all sessions and with all clients.

I believe that people can take their mental health into their own hands and build a life that is rooted in acceptance, regulation, stability, balance, and self-love. My clients would likely say that: I listen well, provide plenty of psychoeducation, help them increase insight, offer relevant feedback and have a strong faith in their ability to create positive and lasting changes, that improve their quality of life. I have often been told that I create a calming environment, which can be helpful for clients navigating difficult challenges. Perinatal Mental Health
As a Black female therapist, I provide racially affirming and culturally responsive care that helps BIPOC women feel seen, supported, and empowered. With over 10 years of experience in community mental health, hospitals, and private practice, I understand how challenging it can be to juggle multiple roles while caring for everyone else. My passion is helping women—especially during pregnancy and motherhood—prioritize their emotional wellbeing, reconnect with themselves, and find balance through life’s transitions.
