New to Grow
My communication style is calm, direct and caring. I try to be non-judgmental. I support my patients and want them to feel better through therapy as well as in all aspects of their personal and professional lives. Through the use of CBT, it promotes the setting of goals, which we develop together and review and modify periodically as progress is made.
During the first session, some time will be spent getting to know you and what drew you to therapy at this time. The time will be spent trying to build a connection between us. I need to take a detailed history to provide me with information about you in order have some insight into your issues.
I am able to connect with a variety of patients of different age groups and diverse backgrounds. I seem to have an empathetic, humanistic style which enables to connect easily. I also have a great deal of varied life experiences.
I am an adult with ADHD and have successfully developed strategies that I have used personally and professionally and have assisted patients in developing systems that work for them. In addition, I use a variety of non-traditional methods such as meditation and mindfulness to help patients approach their issues in a variety of ways.
CBT focuses on the present, empowering the individuals to change their thoughts and behaviors through structured exercises and goal setting. CBT techniques have been applied to manage stress, enhance productivity and improve interpersonal relationships. I work with the client on setting goals to improve functioning, which we revisit as we progress.
