Welcome to my profile! Thank you for taking that step of courage to seek the healing you desire! I am Delores Mayen, LCSW/LMSW-C. I am a licensed Clinical Social Worker in Texas and Michigan, who provides Christian faith-based therapy to adults who face challenges with anxiety, childhood-trauma, adult trauma, abuse, relationship building and just the currents involved when navigating through this thing called life. I also work with young adults, single-mothers, women with families, and men/women who have experienced childhood sexual abuse. I have experience working in the mental health field for over 10 years and have been providing clinical therapy services for 6 years. I am passionate about this field because I believe that everyone deserves healing in all areas of their life and that a diagnosis or challenge does not define a person. I offer faith-based Christian therapy to all of my potential clients, as I found that this is the most beneficial method of treatment I have ever worked with in practice. I have worked with clients who have made remarkable progress and found hope when engaging in this faith-based practice. I will be more than happy to work with anyone who is open to trying faith-based Christian therapy, as I can guarantee they will not be disappointed. Spirituality from diverse religious beliefs and practices from around the world, are widely accepted when addressing healing in the mental health field. However, it is unfortunate that Christian-faith based therapy, is a priceless gem that has been overlooked in the healing sector of mental health. I am here, as a clinician to offer that gem for the benefit and wellness of potential clients, who would like to experience everlasting healing. Please feel free to reach out and schedule to speak with me to learn more about the services I provide. Delores Mayen, LMSW/LCSW

With the right match, psychotherapy is one of the greatest gifts you can give to yourself. I'm a licensed clinical social worker and see people remotely in New York and Michigan. My approach is warm, genuine, and affirming. It's my job to listen and understand how your background, circumstances, relationships, and overlapping social identities have shaped your experience. Rather than telling you what I think you should do, I'll help you navigate what you're dealing with so you can heal and move forward. I have a master’s degree with a law minor from Columbia University and a bachelor's in psychology from the University of Michigan; I've practiced social work for 20+ years. I’ve devoted much of my career to social justice and have worked with, and on behalf of kids and adults of all ages in the areas of mental health, child welfare, juvenile justice, education, LGBTQIA+ rights, and homeless services. After some soul searching and shifting of my "why," I've returned to clinical practice and love meeting and working with people from all walks of life.

Hello! Wishing you wellness. I’m Christina, A Licensed Professional Counselor completing a doctorate in Clinical Psychology and neuroscience. I have practiced in Maryland, New Jersey, Florida and Michigan for over 20 years. I practice solution-focused therapy that leads to results! I treat young women ages 18-40, utilizing a variety of techniques. I believe in listening, helping and healing but I am most concerned about growth. I believe that clients who remain stagnant in therapy are not getting their needs met. Therapy is a collaboration and a partnership. It is about working together to promote healing and also teaching tools and techniques that will last a lifetime. Long after the therapy session is over, clients continue to live their lives. If ill equipped to handle difficult times, a client can find themselves in the same situation that sent them to therapy initially. This could potentially lead to dependency on therapy or one may find themselves disliking therapy.

Frequently asked questions

Why filter by Michigan rather than a city like Detroit?

When looking for online therapy, you can see anyone that is credentialed in the state. We want you to find the best fit, therefore, Grow Therapy shows available therapists across Michigan from Grand Rapids to Warren! If you’d rather see someone in-person, you can change the filter from virtual and find a therapist near you in Michigan.

Will my therapist take insurance?

When booking you’ll be asked to verify with your Member ID. However, if you don’t have any of the insurances available you can select cash. Our therapists will have their cost of appointment on their profile. Individual session costs will vary.

How does the Specialty Filter work? Can I find a therapist that focuses on a specific issue?

The specialty filter is optional. You don’t need to check any boxes to see a provider. However, fit is very important when selecting an online therapist. If you have knowledge or experience to recognize what specialties you may need.

What are the "Clients say I'm" badges?

Grow Therapy asks patients about their experience with therapists after they have had a certain number of sessions. After enough responses, we add those characteristics to their profiles to help you find the best online therapists for you. We're still working on collecting this information from all our therapists.

Why use Gender, Age, and Identities filters?

Finding a provider with a similar life experience can be beneficial because it can be easier to establish rapport and potentially be understood quicker and clearer.

What to expect during your first session?

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs.

Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
