I hold a Clinical Psychologist license to practice in Illinois. I completed my doctorate studies at Adler University. My professional experience in treatment spans over 25 years. I believe a person holds the ability to transform their life for the better. I find satisfaction in helping them advance on their path. The following examples show my methods for treating anxiety and depression.
The evidence-based treatment method I use for anxiety focuses on individualized symptom-specific approaches that match the client’s needs and personal preferences. The combination of repetitive and irrational thoughts about perceived danger, uncertainty or failure creates distressing mental states which may manifest as negative thought, such as: "I am not good enough" or "something bad will happen" or "I will be fired if I make a mistake."
I assist my clients to detect and fight their negative beliefs and thoughts. I guide clients to manage their anxiety symptoms with mindfulness breathing techniques and progressive muscle relaxation methods. With assigned homework including mindfulness exercises, I guide the client to maintain their progress and self-regulation between sessions.
My depression treatment approach matches each client's symptoms, their life history, and their social environment. Depression exists on a spectrum from temporary sadness to persistent and severe Major Depressive Disorder. The maintenance of depression relies on negative thoughts such as “I am worthless” or “Nothing will ever get better.” Our focus will be to identify and modify.
Through Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), I help clients view their depressive thoughts in a non-judgmental manner to reduce their rumination and emotional distress. By teaching problem solving skills and the practice of mindfulness helps the individual become more aware of their physical tension. Assigning homework guides the individual to improve sleep hygiene, self-care, and build effective coping strategies.
Hi! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) who received my Bachelor's and Master's degrees at UIC in 2002. I have worked in various settings, including schools, a health department, churches, and private practice. I enjoy bringing hope and change to individuals.
My approach to counseling is to provide a strong therapeutic relationship tailored to your needs and goals in a safe, nonjudgmental, nurturing environment where healing can begin. I am passionate about working together to learn new tools for change when you feel overwhelmed, distressed, or stuck.
I aim to create a caring environment that invites one to explore one's personal story and find healing. Therapy focuses on discussing past and current patterns and coping skills to help people gain greater self-awareness and the ability to solve problems more effectively in the future.
When scheduling an appointment, we can consider other options because my availability is primarily in my private practice, and I have additional availability. Feel free to reach out if you are not able to find a time that matches your schedule.
Hey, I’m Jeannuel
I’m really glad you’re here.
I’m a therapist, but more importantly, I’m someone who deeply values human connection, honesty, and showing up authentically. I believe therapy should feel safe, supportive, and real — not intimidating or overly clinical.
I’m warm, down-to-earth, and optimistic by nature. I value laughter when it fits, honesty even when things feel messy, and creating a space where you don’t have to pretend to have it all together. I believe healing happens when people feel truly seen and supported — not judged or rushed. My work is grounded in compassion, curiosity, and respect for each person’s story.
Outside of the therapy room, I’m someone who appreciates balance, reflection, and growth. I care deeply about helping people reconnect with themselves and trust their inner voice again , or even discover it for the first time.
If you’re looking for a therapist who shows up as a real person and creates space for you to be one too, you’re in the right place.
I’m a mental health professional with a deep and varied background in education, counseling, human services, and advocacy. Over the years, I’ve worked alongside adults, youth, and families navigating trauma, identity shifts, life transitions, and the lasting weight of systemic challenges like poverty, incarceration, and intergenerational trauma. I don’t just see symptoms, I see people. Whole people. And I meet them exactly where they are.
I'm Marissa, a therapist for women who carry it all. The ones who hold everyone else together while quietly losing themselves underneath it. My work is for the woman who looks fine on the outside and is exhausted on the inside. Together we make space for you to set it down, name what it's costing you, and slowly find your way back to yourself.
Hello! Thanks for pausing your search to take a look at my profile. I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) and clinical mental health counselor educator (EdD). My experience has been trauma-focused with emphasis on the experiences of those who have survived group-focused negative experiences.
Resilience is the hallmark of survivors of interpersonal violence, and through a strength-based focus, we will work together to reinforce your unique, perhaps forgotten, talents and abilities.
I work from a cognitive-behavioral, strength-based model that focuses on identifying personal strengths that can be leveraged into new skills that help to reduce the impact of the stressors in daily living.
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Indiana. I received my master's degree education from Purdue University Northwest. I have experience in working with a variety of issues including, but not limited to, mood and anxiety disorders, trauma, grief/loss, and adjustment disorders.
Outside of private practice, I work as a therapist in the schools and with non-profit agencies in the community.
Hello, I'm Laura, a licensed therapist with a doctorate in psychology dedicated to helping individuals and families find healing, hope and direction through life's challenges. I provide therapy for adolescents and adults who are navigating issues such as grief, depression or anxiety. My goal is to provide a safe and welcoming space where you can explore your story, develop coping skills and grow emotionally .
I am a somatic therapist, not just a talk therapist. I work in the body. I help adults reduce overwhelm, build practical tools, and create real, lasting change in daily life. My work integrates structured, evidence based approaches with a nervous system focused approach that supports regulation, recovery, and clarity.
I focus on you as a person, not a diagnosis, and tailor the work to how you function best.

Hi! My name is Jacqueline Lizarazo, and I go by Jackie. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker specializing in therapy for individuals, children, and couples, with a focus on grief, depression, anxiety, PTSD, and sexual abuse.
Why Choose Me:
I want you to read the following passages:
On Abuse: “I lived in a glass house into which my mother could look at any time. In a glass house, however, you cannot conceal anything without giving yourself away, except by hiding it under the ground. And then you cannot see it yourself, either.”
On Depression: “Trees aren’t supposed to display fruit; they’re supposed to produce it. As much as I wanted to see results, I knew that I had to wait. The tree had to become healthy and mature before it could produce the fruit, and that takes time.”
If what you read resonates with you, this is the type of therapy I offer. I push, and sometimes might make you cry—not to harm, but for growth. I deeply care about my patients and only want the best for you.
I am not judgmental; I am here to listen and provide feedback. I often ask myself the question: if I were sitting where you are, would I come back? And the answer is yes. I give homework, so don’t expect it to be easy unless we need it to be. I am flexible, and my schedule is pretty open to fit your needs.
We’re going to have days where we just catch up and talk about what happened that week but be prepared to talk about your past. I believe together we can grow into the person you want to be.
