New to Grow
I work with adults, children & teens, and their families. My approach to therapy is restorative and invitational. I encourage you to keep an open mind, trust the therapeutic process, and be willing to take thoughtful risks as we work together. My goal is to help you build the insight, knowledge, and skills needed to address your concerns and create meaningful, lasting change. I have more than 25 years of experience helping adults, children & teens, and families in crisis from my private practice. I have also worked in schools, with law enforcement and military personnel and their families, in correctional facilities, and I have been a clinical director for an inpatient hospitals and a residential treatment center. Additionally, I worked in the Canadian Arctic, traveling monthly to train and consult in education, healthcare, and correctional facilities for over 20 years.
I’ll begin by inviting you to share about yourself, what has brought you to therapy at this time, and the strengths, needs, and goals that are important to you. This helps me get to know you as a person and better understand how I can support you. I also encourage you to ask questions throughout the process so that you feel informed, comfortable, and able to get the most from our work together.
We all want to be our best. Together, I will ask questions and support you to be the person you want to be, especially in the circumstances that bring you to therapy. My approach is restorative. I believe people have the strength and capacity to address the issues they are facing. Thank you for considering that I might assist you on your journey. You don't have to face challenges alone. The hard part of therapy is the first step. Here's my invitation: come to therapy with an open mind, trust the restorative process of healing, and take a risk to use your strengths and meet your needs without interfering with others' ability to meet theirs
I build a therapeutic relationship using restorative practices to address concerns, mindset, and goals with individuals, couples, and families from 6 to seniors. I use a simple format of checking in, checking up, and checking out during our sessions. How are you today and what are the goals you want to address? What are the issues blocking those goals to be accomplished? And what steps are you willing to take - and measure - about the effectiveness of your healing journey?
