Social work chose me! When I wrote my personal essay for my MSW, I realized social work had always surrounded me. Hello! I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker based in Florida. I received my Master's degree at Florida Atlantic University and have over 10 years of experience working with children, teens, adults and families. I truly want my clients to believe that they deserve help and the care for their mental health and wellbeing. I am passionate about motivating clients to best utilize their strengths, discover their abilities to overcome challenges in their lives, and manage conflicts in their relationships.

I have 12 years of clinical experience working with teens, young adults and adults. In addition to working with common mental health conditions such as anxiety, depression, interpersonal challenges, etc., I have broader experience working with children of divorce, trauma, grief and LGBTQAI+ populations. We all have a fundamental need to feel known, cared for and understood and I am honored to have a career in which I can be that person for others. The therapeutic process is hard to explain and better to be experienced. As we feel known, cared for and understood by not only another but with time, ourselves, it’s a special kind of magic that can bring about deep healing and shifts. A little bit about me; I was born and raised in Miami, Florida and have also lived in Boston, Massachusetts and Boulder, Colorado. Hi! I am a heterosexual cisgender woman, and my husband and I have a 15 year old son. I'm originally from St. Louis, Missouri but I have lived in Florida for 34 years and it's my home. I hate snow. I think of myself as a girl-next-door therapist. New clients often tell me I'm easy to talk to. I like to use humor whenever possible. My approach is gentle and humble. I'll never go beyond your comfort level of discussion. My office is where you can spew your thoughts, cry, talk about yourself and even the thoughts you have that would be offensive to others. I have had clients say things about their life that would not be acceptable in most settings, and being able to talk about it is often very freeing. I became a master's level social worker at 32, and my life experience prior to that enabled my ability to understand different types of people and what motivates them. I've been in this field for 16 years and I have worked in foster care, hospice and other medical settings and outpatient mental health settings.
