Hi, my name is Morgan. Do you ever feel that your life is nothing but a big puzzle and that some pieces are missing? You are not quite sure how to find those pieces. It's not always an easy, but once completed, you feel whole. I was there once. At the age of 21, I decided to leave the U.S. and travel abroad by myself for 6 months. Then it was off to Central America. My eyes were wide open! I loved to experience different cultures. And my curiosity for differences never went away. A college mentor told me about the field of social work. So I got my MSW and thus began a new career. After years of working in the field and at various occupations, I decided to join DOD and become a Clinical Social Worker for the Navy. After 14 years of government work, I went into private practice. Now I'm here and I love it! It isn't everyone who can love what they do and do what they love. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). I grew up in a family of social workers which led me to the field. I grew up going to the nursing home my mom worked in as a geriatric social worker. Two of my mothers sisters were social workers and my great aunt was a therapist for delinquent teens. I have always had the instinct to help others and as I grew up I found that many people felt comfortable sharing things with me that they usually would say they never talked about. My amazement at the amount of traumatized people there were in my life turned into a fascination with the workings of the mind and body. My need to help others turned into a BSW, then an MSW, to an LCSW. Years went into study and licensing but still the subject does not bore me. I am excited to share what I have experienced and what I have learned while adapting the concepts to help others in the specific ways they need.
