Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

I am dedicated to creating and maintaining a welcoming, therapeutic, and judgment free atmosphere for my clients. In our first session we will lay the foundation for a therapeutic alliance by getting to know each other. The primary focus during this session to learn and understand your needs and desires through a discussion of past experiences, goals, and reason for seeking therapy. Expectations for treatment and therapy policies are also shared during this session. The length of the first session varies between, 60-120 minutes, based on the service requested and the information required by the your insurance carrier. From there we will develop a plan tailored to your expressed goals and needs, which will be used to guide future sessions.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I have a passion for seeing others thrive and celebrating them. My greatest strength is empathy and the ability to meet a client where they are. The ability to meet clients where they are and empathize allows the experience of therapy to be tailored made towards the unique needs and personality of each client. Empathy gives me the ability to see an individual, their experiences, and the emotion driving them. My ability to empathize and meet clients where they are aids the creation of a safe, judgement free environment, promotes rapport, and encourages exploration and change. In therapy, I am known for maintaining an honest, relatable, down to earth attitude with an flexible, exploratory, and humorous personality. This is my way of modeling for my clients...it is okay to be you.I believe that there is room for all our emotions and it is my aim to assist my clients in the ability to recognize, honor, and utilize those emotions in a manner leading them towards a healthy and fulfilling life.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I have a deep enthusiasm for clients who are feeling stuck, invisible, afraid, or maybe, internally angry and asking themselves the why's and how's of life. You know, how do I manage? How can I get ahead? Why did I respond that way? Why do I continue to make these types of choices or behave in this way? Why does this keep happening to me? The most important questions are Who and What... Who am I and what is my purpose? Many of my clients question their ability to succeed or fear failing/disappointing others despite receiving praise or recognized successes. My clients often desire and recognize the need for change, but have experienced a life that does not give them the roadmap to the change they are seeking. My clients want to fall in love with themselves, heal feelings of brokenness, and alleviate feelings of loss, loneliness, emptiness, and deep despair. My clients are individuals who are seeking change and are ready to take the necessary steps towards enhancing their life. Clients I work with are committed to learning and applying new skills, in and outside of sessions, to achieve their goals. Over the last 11 years, I have had the honor of working with a diverse range of clients from preschool to senior citizen, with issues that include (but not limited to) self esteem building, confidence boosting, chronic pain, stress management, anxiety, trauma, parenting, and PTSD related treatment. I am a huge advocate for self awareness, emotional maturity, and the development of self efficacy to maintain a healthy balance and presence across all domains in life. My current practice accepts ages 13 to to 85+.
