Salutations, and welcome. I invite you to join me on a healing journey where you can feel seen, supported, and safe. I am a licensed mental health counselor, EMDR-trained clinician, and registered art therapist with more than a decade of trauma-informed experience. My approach is grounded in compassion, empathy, and deep respect for you as the expert of your own life. I use a person-centered style and integrate a variety of approaches, including EMDR, cognitive behavioral therapy, art therapy, solution-focused methods, sand tray work, and traditional talk therapy. This allows me to tailor sessions to your unique needs, goals, and personality. I find great joy in walking alongside clients as they grow, heal, and create the version of themselves they wish to become.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Our first session is a space for us to get to know each other and begin building a strong therapeutic connection. I will invite you to share what brings you to therapy, your past experiences, and the goals you hope to work toward. We will also talk through expectations for treatment and review any important policies. Together, we will start shaping a plan that reflects your needs and helps guide our future sessions. My focus is always on creating a warm, welcoming, and judgment-free environment where you can feel comfortable exploring your story at your own pace.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

Empathy is at the heart of my work. I meet clients exactly where they are and support them with honesty, compassion, and a down-to-earth attitude. I believe every emotion has a place, and part of our work is learning to recognize, honor, and use those emotions in ways that support healing and growth. I bring a flexible, curious, and at times humorous approach to therapy. Clients often describe me as relatable and grounded. My goal is to create a space where you can be fully yourself and feel understood as you explore change and build new skills.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I have a deep enthusiasm for clients who are feeling stuck, invisible, afraid, or maybe, internally angry and asking themselves the why's and how's of life. You know, how do I manage? How can I get ahead? Why did I respond that way? Why do I continue to make these types of choices or behave in this way? Why does this keep happening to me? The most important questions are Who and What... Who am I and what is my purpose? Many of my clients question their ability to succeed or fear failing/disappointing others despite receiving praise or recognized successes. My clients often desire and recognize the need for change, but have experienced a life that does not give them the roadmap to the change they are seeking. My clients want to fall in love with themselves, heal feelings of brokenness, and alleviate feelings of loss, loneliness, emptiness, and deep despair. My clients are individuals who are seeking change and are ready to take the necessary steps towards enhancing their life. Clients I work with are committed to learning and applying new skills, in and outside of sessions, to achieve their goals. Over the last 11 years, I have had the honor of working with a diverse range of clients from preschool to senior citizen, with issues that include (but not limited to) self esteem building, confidence boosting, chronic pain, stress management, anxiety, trauma, parenting, and PTSD related treatment. I am a huge advocate for self awareness, emotional maturity, and the development of self efficacy to maintain a healthy balance and presence across all domains in life. My current practice accepts ages 13 to to 85+.

My treatment methods

Person-centered (Rogerian)

I believe each person is unique and the expert of their life. I strive to create an environment that this laid back, therapeutic, and judgement free.

EMDR

The use of EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) uses bilateral stimulation to reprocess memories and reduce or alleviate impacts of trauma and fear. I derive pleasure out of seeing growth in self esteem, self efficacy, and sense of security through the use of EMDR.

Eclectic

I utilize a diverse selection of methods and interventions to meet the needs of each client. Clients can expect an experience they may include talk therapy, mindfulness, solution focus, sand tray, and art therapy (Artistic skills are not necessary to benefit from this mthod.)

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

The use of CBT provides clients the ability to transform behavior through the restructuring their thought process. Client learn to manage thoughts, cope with emotions, and alter behavior to enhance there life experiences.

Psychoeducation

Providing psychoeducation to my clients allows them to make informed decisions and promotes increases in solution focus, acceptance, commitment to treatment, and movements towards a higher quality of life.
