I am caring, compassionate, and a very good listener. I am a Christian, wife of a Veteran, mother, and grandmother. My heritage is Caribbean-American. I grew up in South Florida with four sisters and two brothers. I was very independent at a very young age and willing to help out wherever.
I am a musician starting with piano in elementary school, then clarinet in middle school, and bass clarinet and bassoon in high school. I love music and find it beneficial in every aspect of life.
I decided to grow my family before pursuing a career. I decided to pursue a career in the mental health field because of a family member being diagnosed with a severe mental health disorder. I earned my AA in Psychology, then a dual degree in Psychology and Behavioral Science. After my undergrad, I went on to receive my master's in social work.
I have worked with Veterans, homeless, hospice, young adults, children, elders, couples and individuals with severe mental health diagnoses.
In my pursuit to help my family member, I became even more passionate about mental health and reducing the negative stigma attached to it. This passion I share with everyone I encounter.

Credentials:

Florida Board Certified Telehealth Practitioner
Certified Supervisor for Post Graduate Mental Health Counselors
I have served clients as individuals, families, and within group environments. Additionally, my counseling experience has included inpatient, outpatient, and crisis stabilization units within the Florida Department of Corrections. I also served as the mental health authority within medium to low-risk juvenile inpatient programs. My experience also includes working within community social service agencies and Medicaid programs. In my years of professional experience, I have found that Depressive and Anxiety Disorders are managed best using Psychotherapy. Whereas many clients may find it helpful to include Antidepressant/Antianxiety medications, it has been my experience that medications alone are less effective and are often supported by Counseling Intervention with a Professional Counselor.

Hi, I'm Jacob. I specialize in helping adults heal from trauma, anxiety, depression, and stress. I believe therapy should feel like a place where you can show up exactly as you are—without judgment or pressure to have everything figured out. My goal is to create a safe, supportive space where we can work together to understand what you're carrying, build on your strengths, and help you move toward lasting healing.
My passion for this work comes from my own life experiences. As a young person, I lived through significant trauma, including abuse and profound loss. Like many people, I searched for ways to cope before I had healthy support. My healing journey began when I started serving others, which eventually led me to become an EMDR therapist. Experiencing EMDR for myself transformed the way I understood healing and inspired me to pursue advanced training and certification.
Today, I use EMDR alongside a client-centered approach, always meeting you where you are. I believe healing is possible, even when it doesn't feel that way right now. Together, we'll work at a pace that feels comfortable while helping you process difficult experiences, build practical coping skills, and create meaningful change in your life.

Hello, I am Shaqueena. Are you tired of being tired? Do you feel that no one understands your situation or that no one can relate? Are you unsure if therapy is right for you?
If you are here, then that means that you are ready and motivated to make some changes in your life. Seeking help can sometimes be tough, which is why I believe that we all experience things in our life that goes beyond our ability to cope and when that happens we need a little more assistance.
As a licensed professional counselor, my ultimate goal is to first normalize seeking assistance by decreasing the stigma on mental health. In doing so, my goal is to assist individuals in their healing process, to empower individuals to become the best version of themselves and to help individuals to see that life is completely what you make it.
My preference for treatment is to utilize a trauma-informed approach in addition to CBT, EMDR and Choice/Reality Therapy.

However, sometimes we need someone on our journey to help us unlock those answers by asking the right questions---things you may not have considered, presenting proven strategies, and psychoeducation. In our sessions, I create a safe, compassionate space where you can explore your story without judgment. I draw on powerful, evidence-based approaches such as Internal Family Systems (IFS), Inner Child Work, and trauma-informed care to help you understand the parts of yourself, heal emotional wounds, and uncover your inner resilience. Whether you are seeking help as an individual or in a group setting, therapy with me is a collaborative process that supports growth, clarity, and self-compassion. I integrate faith into the therapeutic process—honoring Christian values and belief systems while respecting each person’s spiritual path. Whether you’re a woman seeking self-discovery, a man learning new ways to process and communicate emotions, or a child building coping skills and self-esteem, my goal is to meet you where you are and walk alongside you toward a life of deeper understanding and freedom.
Hello! I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a doctorate in Marriage and Family Therapy, based in South Florida. I believe the families and communities we grow up in shape nearly everything about who we become — how we love, how we trust, how we cope, and how we show up for the people who matter most to us.
I have a deep appreciation for the richness and complexity that culture, identity, and lived experience bring into the therapy room. I welcome clients from all backgrounds, and I have a particular heart for first-generation individuals and families who are often holding the weight of two worlds — honoring where they came from while finding their footing in where they are.
My specialty is working with individuals, couples, and families navigating life transitions, relationship challenges, and the lasting effects of early experiences. Whether you are carrying something you have never said out loud, working through a relationship that feels stuck, or simply sensing that something needs to shift — you have found a space where you are welcome exactly as you are.
Your experiences, ideas, and perceptions are important to me. No matter what issue you are
seeking help with, I am here to listen and guide you on a path that is specific to you and your needs. I am a down-to-earth, gentle, and kind person who wants to learn about what you’re going through in your own words. Your experiences and aspirations are at the heart of the work we will do together.
If you are looking for a therapist who cares to see the real you and is genuinely interested in
helping you find a path that suits your needs, I would love to have the opportunity to speak with you.
I've got 14 years of experience in outpatient therapy. I enjoy working with people who feel like they are giving therapy one last try because they have not had much luck before. I enjoy working with people who have chronic mental illness which seems like they are stuck with maintaining their progress. I am more than willing and able to work with anybody who is ready to give it a try!
