New to Grow
With over 30 years of public service and a strong foundation in military and clinical care, I bring deep experience, compassion, and understanding to my work as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. My journey began in the U.S. military, where I served as a medic in hospitals and clinics across the country. There, I witnessed firsthand the impact of trauma, anxiety, depression, and other mental health challenges—an experience that inspired my lifelong dedication to helping others heal. Following my service, I spent over two decades in crisis intervention, responding to and supporting individuals in crisis. These years reinforced my belief that empathy, patience, and listening can change lives.
Your first session is primarily an intake and assessment appointment. During this meeting, we will gather information about your concerns, personal history, current symptoms, strengths, relationships, and goals for counseling. This process helps me gain a better understanding of your unique situation and the challenges you may be facing.
My approach combines evidence-based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) with genuine compassion, collaboration, and practical problem-solving. I believe therapy should be more than simply talking about problems—it should provide you with tools and strategies that help create meaningful change in your daily life.
I believe therapy is a collaborative journey—a space built on trust, authenticity, and hope. When we meet, you become my focus, and I strive to provide a supportive, nonjudgmental environment where you feel heard, understood, and valued. My goal is to help you feel more confident, reassured, and empowered as you navigate life’s challenges. Together, we will identify strengths, develop practical coping strategies, and work toward meaningful growth, healing, and lasting positive change. I am committed to walking alongside you as you build resilience and create the life you desire.
