Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Starting therapy can feel overwhelming, so my goal during our first session is to create a comfortable, judgment-free space where you can share at your own pace. We’ll discuss what brings you to therapy, your current challenges, personal history, and the goals you hope to work toward. I’ll also answer any questions you may have about the therapeutic process. Together, we’ll begin creating a plan tailored to your unique needs so you leave feeling supported, understood, and hopeful about the path ahead.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

One of my greatest strengths as a therapist is my ability to create genuine, authentic connections with clients while also helping them stay accountable to their goals. I balance empathy with directness and believe therapy should feel both supportive and empowering. I specialize in helping clients increase self-awareness, improve emotional regulation, strengthen boundaries, and develop healthier coping strategies. Clients often describe me as approachable, compassionate, relatable, and easy to talk to, while also helping them challenge patterns that no longer serve them.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I am best positioned to serve adolescents and young adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, relationship challenges, emotional dysregulation, self-esteem concerns, and substance use or recovery-related issues. I work well with clients who may feel overwhelmed, stuck, emotionally exhausted, or disconnected from themselves and are looking to gain insight, develop healthier coping skills, improve relationships, and create more balance in their lives. I especially connect with individuals who value a supportive, collaborative, and nonjudgmental therapeutic space where they can feel heard while also being gently challenged toward growth and accountability. My approach is best suited for clients who are motivated to increase self-awareness, improve emotional regulation, strengthen boundaries, process past experiences, and build healthier thought patterns and behaviors. I enjoy helping clients develop practical tools they can apply in everyday life while fostering resilience, confidence, and long-term personal growth.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have experience utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy in both individual and group therapy settings with adults struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, substance use, emotional regulation, and maladaptive thought patterns. In my practice, I use CBT to help clients identify the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors while developing healthier coping skills and more adaptive ways of thinking. I often incorporate cognitive restructuring, behavioral activation, mindfulness techniques, psychoeducation, and coping skill development to support clients in recognizing distorted thinking patterns and improving emotional regulation. I tailor interventions to each client’s individual needs and frequently integrate CBT with trauma-informed care, motivational interviewing, and DBT-based interventions to create a collaborative, goal-oriented treatment approach that promotes long-term growth and behavioral change.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I have experience utilizing Dialectical Behavior Therapy in both individual and group therapy settings with adults struggling with emotional dysregulation, anxiety, depression, trauma, substance use, interpersonal difficulties, and maladaptive coping patterns. In my practice, I use DBT to help clients build insight, improve emotional regulation, increase distress tolerance, strengthen interpersonal effectiveness, and develop mindfulness skills. I frequently incorporate DBT interventions such as grounding techniques, emotion regulation strategies, boundary setting, mindfulness practices, and crisis survival skills to help clients navigate challenging emotions and situations more effectively. I take a collaborative and validating approach while also encouraging accountability and behavioral change, tailoring interventions to each client’s unique needs and treatment goals. I often integrate DBT with CBT, motivational interviewing, and trauma-informed approaches to support long-term emotional stability and healthier coping patterns.

Family Therapy

I have experience providing Family Therapy in both substance use and mental health treatment settings, working with families navigating communication difficulties, conflict, codependency, boundary issues, and the impact of trauma or addiction on the family system. In my practice, I utilize a collaborative and systems-based approach to help family members improve communication, increase understanding, rebuild trust, and develop healthier relational dynamics. I facilitate discussions that promote accountability, emotional expression, boundary setting, and problem-solving while helping families identify patterns that may contribute to ongoing distress or dysfunction. I also provide psychoeducation on topics such as addiction, mental health, coping skills, and recovery to support the family unit as a whole. My approach is trauma-informed, client-centered, and tailored to the unique needs and goals of each family system.

Trauma Informed Care

I have experience utilizing Trauma-Informed Care in both mental health and substance use treatment settings with adults who have experienced trauma, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, and co-occurring disorders. In my practice, I prioritize creating a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental therapeutic environment where clients feel empowered and validated in their healing process. I incorporate trauma-informed principles by recognizing the impact trauma can have on emotional regulation, behaviors, relationships, and coping patterns while focusing on building trust, emotional safety, and collaboration within the therapeutic relationship. I utilize interventions such as grounding techniques, mindfulness, psychoeducation, emotional regulation skills, and coping skill development to help clients process experiences and strengthen resilience. I also integrate modalities such as CBT, DBT, and motivational interviewing while tailoring treatment to each client’s individual needs, strengths, and readiness for change.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

I have experience utilizing Solution-Focused Brief Therapy in both individual and group therapy settings with clients struggling with anxiety, depression, substance use, life transitions, relationship challenges, and emotional distress. In my practice, I use a strengths-based and goal-oriented approach to help clients identify existing coping skills, build on past successes, and develop realistic solutions to current challenges. I incorporate techniques such as scaling questions, the miracle question, goal setting, and identifying exceptions to help clients increase insight, motivation, and confidence in their ability to create change. I strive to create a collaborative and empowering therapeutic environment that focuses on progress, resilience, and practical strategies while tailoring interventions to each client’s unique needs and treatment goals. I often integrate solution-focused techniques with CBT, DBT, and motivational interviewing to support meaningful and sustainable growth.
