Do you find yourself appearing capable and composed on the outside while quietly carrying a constant sense of pressure, responsibility, or emotional exhaustion on the inside? Many high-functioning professionals and women are skilled at managing work, relationships, and expectations, yet still feel overwhelmed by the invisible weight they carry.
I am a licensed therapist dedicated to creating a safe and affirming space where your experiences are heard, respected, and explored without judgment. My counseling approach honors the complexity of your life and the cultural, relational, and personal factors that shape how you show up in the world. Together, we examine the patterns that contribute to stress, over-responsibility, emotional urgency, and difficulty prioritizing your own needs.
In therapy, we work to slow down the cycle of constant doing and shift toward greater clarity, regulation, and self-understanding. This process often includes identifying long-standing patterns, strengthening emotional boundaries, and building healthier ways of responding to stress, relationships, and internal pressure.
My goal is to support you in processing life’s challenges while reconnecting with your strengths and capacity for balance. At the center of my work is the belief that meaningful change begins with awareness, followed by intentional repair and compassionate growth—an approach reflected in the Break. Repair. Heal.™ framework that guides my practice.

I am a licensed clinical social worker currently based in Florida, with an MSW degree from New York University. I have 30 years of experience providing mental health services in community mental health clinics, psychiatric hospitals, and criminal justice facilities. For the past several years I have focused on providing individual teletherapy sessions to persons who are motivated to make positive changes in their lives.
I am passionate about trauma and helping others who have suffered from trauma in the past. The impact of trauma is largely unrecognized and can last a lifetime. Additionally, symptoms of trauma masquerade as many other diagnoses. For example, thousands of children are diagnosed each year with attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder, when their symptoms are actually due to trauma. Trauma disguises itself as anger management issues, impulsivity, depression, anxiety, phobias, panic attacks ... the list goes on and on. For me, treating trauma and helping others overcome its devastating effects is intensely rewarding.

I believe building rapport and being met with compassion is essential to creating a healing environment to empower you to be the best you. Sometimes we are just held back by maladaptive behavioral or thought patterns, we feel overwhelmed with distressing thoughts and emotions, we experience constant worry/anxiety over past or future events, or we find that words simply are not enough to express ourselves. With my support, we will fill your toolbox full of skills to reach your full potential, overcome obstacles, and live the life that you want to live!

My approach to therapy is integrative and holistic, combining client-centered care, cognitive-behavioral techniques (CBT), mindfulness, and strength-based. I believe in empowering individuals by helping them recognize and build upon their strengths—even when those strengths feel hard to find. Together, we can uncover them.
I’m also a strong advocate for self-care and self-love as essential components of mental and physical well-being.
My goal is to create a safe, supportive, and judgment-free space where you can heal, grow, and thrive—at your own pace and on your own terms.

I am an individual, couple, and family therapist with experience helping people find solutions to a wide array of presenting problems.
I specialize in working with: Teenagers and Adults struggling with self-esteem issues, depression, anxiety, loss of hope, Couple and family/relationship issues dealing with family stressors, blended families, and parenting/co-parenting issues. At Family Solutions Counseling, my practice is faith-based. My faith and life experiences are why I chose to become a Counselor.
I also approach client concerns from a Solution-focused perspective. We all possess strengths and resources that can be used to attain personal growth and overcome life's challenges. Are you having a difficult time getting through your day because your mind is wondering or you feel so down that you do not have any motivation? Do you feel confused because your mood is up and down?
It may seem that it is never going to stop and I will always have these issues but I want you to know there is help out there and I can help you learn what it is that you are going through and teach you skills that help manage the feelings so you have more great days than low days. I will add some humor into our sessions because sometimes our emotions get to be too much and we need to just laugh once in a while.
I love mixing different therapies because therapy techniques are not cookie cutter and one technique may work for one person but not another person. We will find what works best for you.
Seeking therapy can feel scary but you're making the right choice. You deserve a safe space to heal and grow. In our sessions together, I'll meet you with compassion and evidence-based techniques so you can overcome the concerns you have that are holding you back. Let's work together.

I have worked in a variety of areas, including private practice, residential treatment centers with adults and teens, and specialized therapeutic foster care with children. I have also worked with everyone from infants and toddlers to seniors. These various settings help me take a holistic approach when working with my clients.

DISCLAIMER: Please do not book me based off of ratings or reviews. Your experience with me will be personal and UNIQUE to YOUR needs, not someone else's needs or experience. Please book me if you perceive I am the right TOOL to use and help you reach your INDIVIDUAL goals. Book me if you are seeking an action-oriented therapist who provides HOMEWORK! Book me if you have insight about your situation, some history with therapy, are seeking solution-focused steps, and are not seeking someone to solely affirm you. I may or may not be the best therapist for newcomers (depends on you) as I ask a lot of questions, which can overwhelm you if you are not used to being questioned. Questioning is to understand you and get to the root of the problem, as well as the excuses used to perpetuate the problem. I am not interested in treating symptoms but rather getting to the core of the problem. If you don't want to do the work, I am just an expensive "Friend". So please be sure that you understand my style before booking me ;-). I am warm, DIRECT, solution-focused, AUTHENTIC, mildly confrontational, 100% Raw/Real and guaranteed to make you laugh as I have often heard from clients that I am funny :-) I won't lie to you or co-sign lies you tell yourself. I will gently reflect what you are not saying and what you are not showing so that you can explore for yourself. The only way out of pain is through. Not above, below, around but through.. The good news is you are not alone and don’t have to do it alone. Utilize the resources offered in this collaborative effort in creating the life (mind, body, & soul) you deserve.
Lets awaken a new you! Its time to make yourself a priority. I understand the process that many go through to find a better way to live. I know how hard it can be thinking that there’s no way out of the “mess.” I have found my love and passion for helping others find a way out. There are many different paths to get back in control, and I can help you find the path that works for you!

Hi there - I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I completed my Master of Social Work degree at the University of South Florida. I also have a Bachelor degree in Psychology from Southeastern University. I have worked in the mental health field for 15 years.
I have provided counsel to assist people from diverse backgrounds, assisting many clients with anxiety/depression, provided trauma-informed care, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, family therapy, parenting skills, and other counseling services for people facing life’s many problems.
I am Kai Hutson, a licensed mental health counselor located in Florida. I graduated with a Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in November of 2021 from Walden University. With my degree, I also gained a specialization in treating addiction. I completed my internship in mental health counseling with Children’s Home Society from March of 2021 through November 2021. During my time in my internship, I counseled patients from the age of 9-45, and gained experience in counseling with a variety of issues, including anxiety, Depression, OCD, and PTSD. I also led a counseling group that helped children ages 9-12 deal with divorce and the challenges that come along with that.
I have been working as counselor post-gradsince February of 2022. I have counseled clients from the age of 6-74, gaining experience in a variety of issues including oppositional defiance, anxiety, depression, PTSD, self-esteem, and intrusive thoughts. I became a counselor after I received counseling herself, and the impact that it made on my life inspired me to want to help people in the same way that I was helped. If I am able to help one person in the same way that I was helped, then this career is worth it to me.
I uses a Strengths-Based approach, combined with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. My goal as a counselor is to help her patients manage the curveballs that life often throws us with the help of coping skills and a positive outlook.
