Are you having a difficult time getting through your day because your mind is wondering or you feel so down that you do not have any motivation? Do you feel confused because your mood is up and down? It may seem that it is never going to stop and I will always have these issues but I want you to know there is help out there and I can help you learn what it is that you are going through and teach you skills that help manage the feelings so you have more great days than low days. I will add some humor into our sessions because sometimes our emotions get to be too much and we need to just laugh once in a while. I love mixing different therapies because therapy techniques are not cookie cutter and one technique may work for one person but not another person. We will find what works best for you. Seeking therapy can feel scary but you're making the right choice. You deserve a safe space to heal and grow. In our sessions together, I'll meet you with compassion and evidence-based techniques so you can overcome the concerns you have that are holding you back. Let's work together.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

During our first session you will learn about me and my therapy style. Remember that no matter how difficult life can become we need to have laughter and I believe therapy also needs laughter. I will try to make you feel as comfortable as can be and feel that no matter what you may be experiencing you can tell me anything and I am hear to listen and work with you to get through your struggles.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I feel my biggest strengths are talking with you as an individual and making you feel comfortable since it is uncomfortable starting therapy. I will listen to you and work with you.

My treatment methods

Christian Counseling

This treatment method is for those who would like to bring God into their sessions.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have been using CBT for many years to help clients challenge their thoughts, learn to breath, and journal thoughts. We will work together to reframe your thoughts, use muscle relaxation techniques and role playing to learn how to use these new tools.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

With DBT we will work together to have you feel comfortable using these techniques. You will learn mindfulness techniques, problem solving, self-sooth with using your 5 senses, create smart goals, Interpersonal Effectiveness Skills, and Emotion Regulation Skills

Grief Therapy

Grief is the loss of someone or something that means a lot to us. It can be the loss of a loved one, the end of a marriage, the loss of a close friendship, the loss of a pet or the loss of a job. Working through our feelings, finding hope and letting ourselves take the time to go through the process of grieving.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

This is where I, the therapist need to accept you the client for who you are and provide support and care no matter what you are going through. There will be times that I share some of my experiences when I feel they are important for you to see how others go through similar issues. I am empathetic to your feelings and I will extend empathy to you, both to form a positive therapeutic relationship and to act as a sort of mirror, reflecting the your thoughts and feelings back to you; this will allow the you to better understand yourself.
