Hi! I'm Solange. It is a true honor for me to be a part of your healing journey. I truly believe in our human need for a listening ear and the healing that comes from it. As a person-centered therapist, I consciously work to see your world through your eyes. This allows room for the safe space necessary to process your unique story. With a flexible approach to therapy, I can use the most effective methods to fit your needs. From coping with life stressors to digging deep, I go at your pace. I began my career at the Trauma Resolution Center where I gained my specialty in treating adult survivors of crime, childhood trauma, and PTSD. I use Trauma Incident Reduction techniques along with EMDR to address current-day symptoms that stem from your past. I have also practiced in outpatient PHP and IOP programs where I focused on providing group therapy with a variety of populations and issues. .
Our first session together will consist of getting to know each other. I'll take the time to understand your needs, goals, and what you hope to achieve through therapy. We'll also discuss any past experiences you've had in therapy. I will explain the theoretical approach I use in our sessions to ensure you're comfortable with any suggestions I might use to help you along the way. As we progress, you'll gain new perspectives and insights to support your healing journey. I’ll encourage self-compassion and celebrate your wins along the way!
I recognize that everyone grows in their own way. To support you, I may use a variety of approaches tailored to your needs, such as Narrative Therapy (storytelling), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (thoughts and behaviors), Person-Centered Therapy (personal feelings), or EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing). I work collaboratively with my clients allowing them to be in control. This approach can help create room for self-compassion, healing, and my personal favorite; inner bliss.
I am committed to continuously improving my skills and knowledge in all areas of counseling but my greatest strength is connecting with clients in a genuine, empathetic way. This strength has allowed me to work with a diverse range of individuals, from children as young as seven to elderly adults. I take a sincere interest in your needs and goals, believing that a trusting, supportive relationship is key to effective healing. I am a therapist who considers it a privilege to be in the front-row seat of your healing. “ A rare and special beauty follows even the worst of storms. Know it. Find it. Celebrate it. You got this.”- J.H.
Currently, I am providing individual services to both adolescents and adults with challenges that include but are not limited; to grief and bereavement, addictions, anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder, childhood trauma, sexual abuse, domestic violence, self-esteem, life transitions, body image, and coping skills
