About
Hello! I’m a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and I hold a PhD in Human Services with a focus on supporting individuals and communities. It’s very common to feel emotionally exhausted when you’ve been carrying a lot for a long time.
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) with over 12 years of experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and older adults.
You may be struggling with anxiety that never fully shuts off, low mood that’s hard to explain, unresolved trauma, or difficulties with focus, motivation, or relationships. You deserve kindness and support as you take things one step at a time. My expertise includes working with children, adolescents, adults, and couples. I specialize in treating anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, relationship challenges, and stress-related concerns. I also have experience supporting individuals in high-stress roles, including first responders.
First session
In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, then further explore challenges you're facing. My approach is collaborative, supportive, and person-centered. Together, we’ll work to understand what’s driving your symptoms, develop practical tools to manage emotional distress, and address deeper patterns that may be keeping you stuck.
Strengths
I engage in ongoing self-reflection and professional development to enhance my therapeutic skills and effectiveness. My commitment to personal growth ensures that I remain true and authentic in my therapeutic work. This self-awareness allows me to approach therapy with genuine empathy, creating a safe and nonjudgmental space where my clients feel heard, understood, and respected.
Treatment methods
Psychodynamic
I have been using psychodynamic therapy in my practice for the past 12 years, helping clients explore unconscious processes and unresolved conflicts that may be influencing their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Through the therapeutic relationship, we will work collaboratively to foster self-awareness, emotional insight, and personal growth, which will help you live a more fulfilling life.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I have been using Cognitive Behavior therapy in my practice for the past 12 years, helping clients identify and challenge dysfunctional thought patterns and behaviors to promote positive changes in emotions and actions. We will use CBT to work collaboratively to address specific problems or symptoms by targeting irrational beliefs, negative self-talk, and maladaptive behaviors. We will develop coping strategies and promote positive changes in your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors.
Trauma-Focused CBT
My experience with trauma-focused cognitive behavior therapy has been helping children, adolescents, and adults process and cope with the effects of traumatic events, such as abuse, death of a loved one, or accidents. During the course of treatment, I provide psychoeducation about trauma, guide you through relaxation and grounding exercises, offer cognitive restructuring techniques, and assist in developing coping strategies for managing trauma-related symptoms. I prioritize creating a safe and supportive environment for you to explore your experiences and work towards healing and recovery.
