I understand that the therapeutic process can be painful and it takes courage to take the first steps therefore I utilize some humor and unconditional positive regard to encourage clients feeling safe and building a trusting therapeutic relationship. I would hope clients can achieve their goals and reach their version of their best self. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the State of Florida (MT 3746). I am tri-lingual in English, Portuguese and Spanish and understanding my cultural privilege has helped me to connect with clients and their families under a non-judgement, strength-base, very collaborative and supportive lens. My specialty is working with trauma survivors and trauma intrusive symptoms such as PTSD full diagnosis or anxiety, depression, obsessive compulsive tendencies, guilt, shame, low self-esteem, inability to maintain healthy connections, co-dependency, flashbacks, self-harm and other maladaptive coping responses steaming from traumatic past experiences. Additionally, individuals and families, that present to therapy with couples and relational struggles, needing to strengthen the intimate relationship, experience adolescent’s conflicts and phases of life concerns, want to explore family dynamics, improve parenting and co-parenting skills (including for blended, foster and adoptive families), are struggling with occupational responsibilities and/or social challenges. In my free time, I enjoy a self-care routine that includes taking time for myself by reading, exercising, practicing mindfulness and spending time with loved ones. Thank you for visiting my profile and I hope you found what you were looking for! *Writing animal support letters or ESA documentation, disability-related paperwork, court-mandated evaluations, divorce or custody agreement related paperwork would be out of the scope of my practice, therefore is not something I engage in at this time. Thank you. * if you are experiencing suicidal thoughts or urges please call 988 as telehealth services may not be enough support

I am doctoral-trained therapist who integrates evidenced based clinical practices in ways that can meet your unique needs/challenges. For instance, I will utilize your strengths, resources and culture in order to explore problems from multiple vantage points. And, I will develop a treatment plan that incorporates co-existing issues. Whether you are experiencing family problems, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges or another issue, I will facilitate conversations where solutions to the problem become more accessible and visible: I believe my clients have the capacity and agency to take actions that are right for them. These are times of uncertainty and challenges for many people. Each person, relationship and family is impacted differently. I am trained to work with individuals, couples, children and families; hence, I am prepared to offer you or your family comprehensive and holistic recommendations. This can be that first step toward an experience where the destination will be determined by each of you. If this speaks to you, I invite you to contact me and schedule a consultation.

My mission is to inspire others to live their purpose. For over 30 years, I have counseled individuals, couples and families with their relationships. The #1 relationship problem goes beyond communication. It is learning to resolve conflict and becoming stronger through it. It is about accepting differences as different and not wrong. Whether you just want a stronger relationship or you are in a crisis and do not know which way to turn, the only thing holding you back holding right now is probably fear. Ask yourself: What would love do? It is important for us to have conscious relationships so that our children will have a better chance of being successful in their own relationships. Otherwise we will watch them repeat our mistakes. Do it for you; do it for them. My education is in psychology, counseling psychology, spirituality and hundreds if not thousands of hours in continuing education on multiple additional topics.

I have 12 years of clinical experience working with teens, young adults and adults. In addition to working with common mental health conditions such as anxiety, depression, interpersonal challenges, etc., I have broader experience working with children of divorce, trauma, grief and LGBTQAI+ populations. We all have a fundamental need to feel known, cared for and understood and I am honored to have a career in which I can be that person for others. The therapeutic process is hard to explain and better to be experienced. As we feel known, cared for and understood by not only another but with time, ourselves, it’s a special kind of magic that can bring about deep healing and shifts. A little bit about me; I was born and raised in Miami, Florida and have also lived in Boston, Massachusetts and Boulder, Colorado. I am now back home, married and a mother of two wild and wonderful boys. Some things that I love are music, nature, hidden gems, good food, deep talks, movies, a good workout, and adventure!

Are you experiencing challenges that are interfering with your emotional health and wellbeing? Do you feel your past experiences are affecting your ability to reach your full potential? Do you need a safe space to process your thoughts and feelings and engage in self exploration? I am a licensed psychotherapist who believes the most important catalyst for change is the relationship between therapist and client. My goal is to partner with you to reach your desired goals in a therapeutic environment. We will take the necessary steps together to foster positive change while creating individual strategies for self-empowerment. I have been trained in EMDR therapy which is a theory based on the belief that our brains have a natural system for processing information and experiences so that we can keep what we need for wisdom, learning, and growth. Sometimes disturbing experiences overwhelm the processing system, or we don't have the information we need for our brains to make sense of what happened in a healthy way. EMDR uses eye movements and other right-left stimulation to activate your brain's processing system so you can successfully process the experience and let go of what's not useful to you. I believe our past effects our present and future- both in adaptative and maladaptive ways. I would be honored to be a part of your journey to inner peace, self-love, and fulfillment.

My name is Mary Vaughan and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor for the state of Florida. I have been in the mental health business for 35+ years. I love my work and that is the reason have stayed in it as long as I have. I am a military brat and I have moved around in Europe and many states. Before I begin to work with a client, I tell them some of my background. It is my opinion the client should know something about his/her counselor before we begin our work. I have had very successful results working with people who suffer from some kind of abuse ( either in childhood or as a young adult.) If abuse has occurred at most any age, the individual may come to me and tell me that they are experincing stress, depression, anxiety and/or panic attacks. Before beginning counseling, I inform the client that we will have a questioning and answer process. This allows the client and me to get to know each other a little better. Based on the information I gather about my client, we discuss what the client wants from their sessions. The individual and I work together as a team. In this process, the client gains a sense of self-esteem and a sense of control over their lives going forward in the future. Finding the right "fit" of counselor and client is key to a successful experience for the client. After the counselor gives the client some unique coping skills, the counselor asks the client if these skills might work for them. These coping skills are "Fluid" and can be modified and changed as we proceed in the counseling process.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed, constantly overthinking, or emotionally drained—you’re not alone. I help individuals who are struggling with anxiety, burnout, self-doubt, and relationship stress learn how to feel more in control and confident in their daily lives. Many of my clients are high-functioning but feel stuck in patterns of overthinking, people-pleasing, or emotional exhaustion. They’re used to carrying everything on their own and don’t always have the tools to slow their thoughts or regulate their emotions. In our work together, we focus on what’s actually keeping you stuck—and more importantly, how to change it. You’ll learn practical skills to manage anxiety, quiet overthinking, set healthy boundaries, and respond differently in situations that usually overwhelm you. My approach is structured, supportive, and goal-oriented. I use evidence-based methods like CBT, DBT, ACT, and solution-focused therapy to help you create real, lasting change—not just temporary relief. If desired, I also offer a Christian, faith-based perspective. If you’re ready for therapy that is both supportive and practical, I’m here to help you build clarity, confidence, and a stronger sense of control.

I value creating a space where people can feel safe enough to slow down, be themselves, and feel genuinely understood. I believe therapy works best when it feels like a real human connection; built on trust, respect, and a steady sense of care. My style is warm, collaborative, and grounded in curiosity about each person’s unique experience, rather than assumptions or quick judgments. I aim to meet you where you are, whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, disconnected, or simply unsure of what you need right now. I pay close attention not only to what you’re going through, but also to the strengths, values, and inner resources that have helped you get through difficult moments. Therapy with me is not about having everything figured out; it’s about making sense of things together at a pace that feels manageable and safe. I bring a thoughtful approach that balances support with insight. At times, this may include reflecting patterns you might not have noticed before or inviting new perspectives when it feels helpful. I often share practical tools, strategies, and resources from evidence-based and relational practices that can support you outside of sessions and help translate insight into everyday life. At the heart of my work is the belief that people don’t have to go through things alone. Whether you’re navigating anxiety, relationship challenges, life transitions, or a general sense that something feels off, therapy can be a place to feel more grounded, connected, and understood. My hope is that our work together helps you build clarity, self-compassion, and a stronger sense of direction in your life. If you’re looking for a space where you can show up as you are and be met with warmth, care, and thoughtful guidance, I would be honored to create that space.

I am a clinical social worker, therapist & life coach. I collaborate with clients in facilitating their ability to navigate their journey through change. I provide clients the opportunity to learn, change and grow, and I provide guidance for them to learn healthy adaptive ways to improve their response to encounters with life stressors and challenging life situations. Clients are engaged in various evidence based therapeutic interventions and the exploration and discovery of their untapped potential, so they can harness the necessary skills and strategies to facilitate behavioral change. In the scope of my practice I aim to empower clients through sessions that are based on a holistic, client driven approach. I view clients through the lens of their personal environment, as their well-being is significantly shaped by their life experiences. In addressing clients presenting issues, I take into consideration the correlation between their presenting issues and their environment; i.e., social, cultural and physical, that contribute to current challenging life circumstances. Focus is given to past experiences and current situations to help them navigate their therapy encounter and future successfully.

My career started as a classroom teacher and school counselor. I currently have over 20 years of experience working with students and families. In addition to my school counseling career, I am a crisis clinician in a major hospital in the DFW metroplex and work in over 32 emergency rooms providing on-call patient care. We all face unexpected challenges which sometimes leave us feeling hopeless and powerless. I believe that we have the ability to make healthy and appropriate choices regardless of the circumstances in which we may find ourselves. My role as a therapist is to assist and support clients as they learn new ways of coping and adjusting to life’s challenges. Counseling will vary depending upon one’s personality, stage of life, strengths or particular concern. Getting started can feel overwhelming. You have no idea where to even begin. You’ve been putting off therapy because you’re afraid it won’t help. More than anything you’d like to be able to feel happy again. You’d like to be able to put yourself out there more and to create deeper, more meaningful relationships with others. You want to have the courage to be your authentic self without hiding behind a mask.
