LCSW, 22 years of experience
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 20 years of experience supporting individuals, couples, families, and groups from diverse cultural, economic, and ethnic backgrounds. My career has taken me across the U.S. and abroad—including New York City, California, and Dublin, Ireland—giving me a broad perspective on the many ways people navigate life’s challenges. Currently, I provide tele-therapy sessions through a HIPAA-compliant platform. Many of my clients have found this format especially helpful in balancing therapy with their busy or unpredictable schedules. My areas of expertise include working with issues related to gender identity, sexuality, and non-traditional relationships (including polyamory and open relationships). I also bring both clinical expertise and personal insight into the challenges that arise in connection with personality disorders such as Narcissistic, Borderline, Avoidant, and Antisocial Personality Disorders. In particular, I help clients process and heal from the emotional trauma that often accompanies relationships impacted by these dynamics. My approach is collaborative, non-judgmental, and grounded in respect for each person’s unique experience. Whether you are seeking support around identity, relationships, or recovery from difficult past experiences, I provide a safe and affirming space where growth and healing are possible. Outside of my work as a therapist, I find joy in activities that keep me grounded and creative. I love traveling and exploring new places, tending to my garden, playing the piano, working out, and cooking. I also have a passion for interior design and creating welcoming spaces. Most importantly, I value quality time with my family, friends, and my dog, Batman, who always manages to bring a smile to my day.
In our first session together, we’ll begin with introductions and an overview of what brings you to therapy. From there, we’ll talk through the challenges you’re facing and identify your goals, so we can create a personalized plan to guide our work in future sessions. My aim is to help you feel comfortable, supported, and clear about the next steps in your therapeutic journey.
Starting therapy is a courageous step—one that can feel challenging but also deeply rewarding. I believe meaningful and lasting change is possible when there is commitment, openness, and a willingness to shift unhelpful patterns. My approach is empathetic, collaborative, and nonjudgmental. I focus on building a strong therapeutic relationship that helps clients feel safe, supported, and understood. Together, we work to uncover and process underlying emotional conflicts and stressors, while developing tools to manage symptoms and move toward your personal goals. I pride myself on creating an empathetic, nonjudgmental and collaborative approach to create a strong therapeutic alliance with my clients to put them at ease and enable them to process underlying emotional conflicts and stressors to assist with managing symptoms and attaining their individual therapeutic goals.
My ideal clients are individuals, couples, and families who are navigating life transitions, relationship challenges, or questions of identity. I work especially well with people exploring gender identity, sexuality, or non-traditional relationship structures such as polyamory and open relationships. I also support clients who may be recovering from the impact of difficult relationships, including those involving personality disorders, where emotional trauma and self-doubt often linger. Many of my clients come to therapy seeking clarity, healthier boundaries, improved self-esteem, and a greater sense of authenticity in how they live and connect with others. Whether you are feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or simply ready to understand yourself more fully, I provide a safe, affirming space to help you build insight, resilience, and confidence moving forward.
I have used CBT to assist my clients to learn how to identify and change the destructive or disturbing thought patterns that have a negative influence on their behavior and emotions. Faulty thoughts are identified, challenged, and replaced with more objective, realistic thoughts.
I have utilized Attachment-based therapy to look at the connection between early attachment experiences with primary caregivers, usually with parents, and the ability to develop healthy emotional and physical relationships as an adult. Attachment-based therapy aims to build or rebuild a trusting, supportive relationship that will help prevent or treat mental health conditions such as anxiety and depression.
I have utilized Eclectic therapy to draw on multiple theoretical orientations and techniques which offer a flexible and multifaceted approach to therapy that allows me to tailor the most effective methods available to address each individual client's needs.

We had our first session with Chris and can I say I was blown away with his authenticity and warmth. I have never felt so comfortable with a therapist before. We felt heard and he stayed neutral when we expressed concerns. We look forward to entrusting our relationship to Chris and allowing him to guide us to a stronger state.
