My style is warm, personable, and direct, and I believe that meaningful growth happens when you feel both supported and challenged. Humor often has a place in the process, too. I work with adults navigating anxiety, self-esteem concerns, life transitions, relationship difficulties, and cross-cultural identity experiences. Are you struggling with something that happened? Maybe you’re having a hard time after a car accident, medical procedure, assault, natural disaster, or witnessing something shocking. Or maybe what happened doesn’t seem “big” enough to call trauma, but you know it changed something in you. Some experiences are what we call “big T” traumas. But there are also “little t” traumas. Being neglected or made to feel invisible, being made fun of, getting yelled at, or losing a pet can leave a lasting mark too. An experience doesn’t have to seem “big” to everyone else. What matters is how it affected you. I’m a trauma therapist who uses EMDR and other therapies to help people work through overwhelming experiences and feel more like themselves again. I also work with healthcare workers who have experienced disturbing or traumatic situations in the course of their jobs. You may be carrying something you saw, heard, or had to do that is difficult to talk about with people who haven’t been there. I have extensive experience working with adolescents and teenagers as well. This is a time of life when everything can feel big, and having a place where you don’t have to minimize what you’re feeling can make a real difference. Therapy with me is active and collaborative. We’ll work together to understand what is keeping you stuck and find ways to help you. If you’re motivated and short on time, I can also give you practical tools and knowledge you can use between sessions to support yourself through a difficult space. I’m probably a good fit if you’re ready to work on the impact of something overwhelming and want a therapist who will take your experience seriously, even if other people might not understand why it affected you so deeply.

I work best with people who are curious about themselves and open to being honest, even when it feels uncomfortable. Many start therapy because of anxiety or depression, but these feelings often signal something deeper, like a weak sense of identity or a lack of purpose. Welcome to Dr. Mitchell’s Safe and Brave Space I began my career in social services in 1995, working with children, youth, and families often labeled as “at-risk”—many of whom were impacted by substance use, poverty, child abuse, and neglect. Over time, my commitment to equity and justice led me to the field of social work, where I continue to center the person-in-environment perspective and actively support antiracist policies, ideas, and actions. This work is grounded in an acknowledgment that we live and practice on the stolen lands of Indigenous peoples, and that much of the wealth and infrastructure of this nation was built through the unpaid labor and enduring suffering of enslaved Africans. I honor these histories and their ongoing impact as part of my commitment to justice, healing, and collective liberation. I am deeply committed to self-awareness and reflective practice, both personally and with those I serve. I walk alongside clients on a healing journey rooted in self-care, resilience, and transformation. I integrate narrative therapy and other evidence-informed approaches through the lens of intersectionality to remain fully person-centered. My practice pays particular attention to the impacts of trauma and race-based stress on one’s inner world. As appropriate, I incorporate Feminist Theory, Queer Theory, and Liberation Psychology to support healing that honors identity, lived experience, and systemic context. I welcome all who value peace, healing, and justice to join me in this space—to try, to grow, and to be.

Hi, I am Trisha Leamon, Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist. I have had an interest in human behavior for as long as I can remember. I enjoy helping my clients source their strengths and achieving effective ways to navigate life’s challenges. My professional experience has given me the opportunity to work with clients who are facing substance abuse, depression, anxiety, divorce, codependence, and grief. I especially enjoy working with clients who are navigating difficult transitions such as divorce, relationships, work, adding to their family, retirement, and the many other journeys of life. My personal experience of my sons passing in 2008 was a large part of my desire to work in the counseling field. Through my own journey, I recognized how difficult past experiences can often play large roles in how we navigate life. My goal with therapy is to offer my clients a caring, attuned therapist as we find new ways to solve problems, heal old wounds, and strengthen the way you live your life. I embrace client focused/strength based theories, CBT, and love the works of Brene Brown.

Hi! I'm a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist based in California. I received my Masters from California State University, Fresno and have been practicing for 30+ years. I love helping people who feel stuck in life due to anxiety and depression. I help clients develop self-insight based on their strengths and areas of interest. By doing so, they are able to overcome negative thoughts and self-defeating behaviors and to identify goals to move toward. I use a variety of therapy modalities, some of which are described below. In addition to the ones described, I use art interventions frequently. Although I am not a certified art therapist, I received a great deal of training in neurodevelopmental art therapy with Linda Chapman.

Hi, I’m Adriana, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in California with over 16 years of experience helping adults navigate anxiety, stress, trauma, relationship challenges, and major life transitions. My approach is warm, collaborative, and trauma-informed. I work with adults who may feel overwhelmed, disconnected, stuck in familiar patterns, or simply tired of carrying everything on their own. Whether you’re navigating relationship difficulties, family dynamics, work or financial stress, grief, life changes, or experiences from the past that continue to affect you today, therapy can be a place to slow down, understand what’s happening beneath the surface, and begin making meaningful changes. I integrate evidence-based approaches with genuine conversation, helping you recognize patterns, challenge unhelpful thoughts, strengthen boundaries, regulate difficult emotions, and develop practical tools you can use outside of therapy. I welcome clients of diverse backgrounds and identities and provide therapy in both English and Spanish. My goal is to offer culturally responsive, individualized care that respects your experiences, values, and the life you want to create. Therapy doesn’t have to mean having everything figured out before you begin. We can start wherever you are and work together from there.
