New to Grow
Hello! I'm Alyssa and I'm so excited to be (potentially) working with you! I have always enjoyed helping others so I figured why not make a career out of it? I got my Bachelors in Psychology at Vanguard University and my Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Adams State University. I've been working in a mental health center for the last 7 years and have been seeing individual clients for 4 years. I'm looking forward to getting to know you! I work primarily with those struggling with anxiety, self-esteem, life transitions, depression, and trauma.
Clients can expect that I will challenge them and also create a comfortable environment where they can be open, honest, and vulnerable with their feelings. I will always ask what their goals are and how I can best support them in their mental health journey.
I believe in being very open minded with my clients and encouraging them to also be open minded. Seeing a new perspective can be a game changer for us and I really challenge my clients to explore areas they maybe hadn't thought about approaching before. I'm very direct while being compassionate and understanding of each client's unique situation.
My ideal client is someone who wants to grow and become the best version of themselves. Someone who is motivated to put in the work but needs to extra guidance to navigate blind spots. I'm passionate about helping others implement boundaries in order to assist clients to protect their peace as well as build their own self confidence. I believe in utilizing clients experiences to help themselves and see them as growing opportunities rather than hinderances.
