Hello! I'm Amber, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I have been in the field of psychotherapy for 20 years and have the honor of working with many indivudals experiencing many different situations. My theories of choice are Psychodynamic and CBT, however, I use a whatever-it-takes approach with clients to help them think, feel and do their best. Depression, anxiety and substance abuse/misuse are the areas I have concentrated on for the past 10 years. My skills include empathy, compassion and I also find, a good dose of humor goes a long way toward healing. Together we will find a way to help that will work best for you.
I am a highly empathetic, positive individual that seeks to assist my clients in finding their worth, self love and myriad of abilities to thrive within life challenges. I enjoyed walking with my clients to find the best version of themselves and who they want to be. I meet my clients where they are and walk with them through awareness and healing process.
I help my clients realize their personal goals through a trauma-informed and empathic approach. My expertise is working with people who have experienced a traumatic event and/or are experiencing mental health struggles/issues, helping them uncover obstacles that hinder their ability to reach their fullest potential. My lived experience brought me to help others as I would have loved to be helped: someone to tell me I’m not alone. Life is hard, and traumas become unbearable without someone in your corner to help process what you have been through.
Welcome, I'm Andrea,
Perhaps you've been considering reaching out for some time. Are you noticing the past affecting your current relationships, or that strategies that once worked for you no longer do? You might even find yourself dismissive of inspirational content on social media.
I help people understand the origins of their communication patterns and learn how to communicate more effectively. This reduces unnecessary conflict and misunderstandings at work, home, and in relationships.
Whether you're facing relationship challenges, workplace stress, the demands of parenthood, or struggling with past trauma—or a combination of these—you've found a place of support and optimism. Together, we will use your strengths, my expertise, and evidence-based techniques to help you achieve your treatment goals.
