Hi! I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) based in CA. I received my Masters Degree from Nova Southeastern University in Florida in 2011. I have dedicated my career to working with adults and adolescents struggling with anxiety, depression and managing different life stressors. Making the decision to start therapy and recognizing that you want to make changes in your life is a big step and my goal is to create a safe and supportive environment for you and help you reach your goals.
In our first session we will spend some time with introductions and later discuss areas where you would like change to happen or any challenges you are struggling with. We will create a treatment plan specific to your needs and develop goals that you would like to set for our work together.
I provide a warm and supportive environment to all my clients. I have so much respect for anyone seeking mental health support, I know how hard it is. I believe that every person deserves to experience good days and we just need a little extra help at times. Sometimes it is hard to know what we need for change to happen and I am here to help navigate that with you and teach you tools so you will feel more confident in dealing with any challenges in the future.
I have worked with CBT throughout my career with adults and adolescents. CBT helps with breaking down negative cycles, whether it be anxious thoughts or negative thought patterns. After identifying these patterns, we will discuss/practice different skills and tools that you can utilize to manage negative thoughts/emotions or behaviors; therefore decreasing stress, anxiety, sadness. This will lead to being able to better manage stressful or negative situations in the future.
I use mindfulness based therapy approach in my practice in order to bring more awareness to thoughts, emotions and body in the present moment. We will use techniques such as relaxation, meditation, breathing and awareness exercises in order to increase ability to live in the present vs past or future, decrease stress and anxiety.
