Hola! I am Licensed Clinical Social Worker based in Los Angeles California. I completed my MSW degree at Florida Atlantic University and have been practicing for the past 8 years. I help clients (individuals), mostly members of the LGBTQ+ community, with relationship, gender and sexual challenges to move towards their empowerment and liberation and embody the power of their queerness in their lives, especially with the intersectionality of BIPOC identities and being a leader.
In our first session, we'll start with brief introductions, then dive into the specific challenges you're facing. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions.
Past clients have said that I bring a sense of authentic, culturally humble and empowering container, making them feel that I get them pretty quickly while being playful and attentive to their needs. I also consider myself an open book (sharing when it clinically serves my client given my relevant lived experiences that can bring hope to clients) and as a partner in our work together who will honor the way and the pace of support provided that we decide best and treating it as an ongoing process, willing to pivot in the service to reach client's goals.
I enjoy working with professional leaders who want to live more sexually fulfilling and authentic lives and relationships, who are ready to reclaim, love and reignite their own queer heart, mind, body and spirit as a way to live and lead.
I believe that with the right readiness, support, practices, and a clear life purpose any human can tap into their own inner wisdom and self-healing. The first step is to increase our awareness of our internal world (thoughts, feelings, and sensations) to better understand our habitual tendencies and how they came to be while increasing our capacity to be in the present moment nonjudgmentally. Eventually with practice, we increase our capacity to choose how to relate with our internal world and move with more intention and less with reactivity.
Mindfulness and somatic (embodiment) practices develop the muscles that create balance and alignment. Alongside deep reflection about feelings, choices and actions, these muscles produce more positive thoughts, emotions, and self-confidence. Hopeful humans always see more possibility, better options, and cause for determination.
Healing is empowerment, the recapture of dignify and honoring each other’s humanness while appreciating our cultural richness. I have been successful at supporting others down this path of self-compassion for several years. I believe our social narratives and relationships impact this journey – especially gender, sexual, and racial inequities. I also believe and promote the importance of taking back our own narratives embracing the richness of our communities to fully embrace our healing and growth.
