My name is Chiwoo, and I'm a licensed professional counselor (LPC) serving clients in Missouri and Florida. I support individuals who tend to overthink and prioritize others' needs, helping them find relief and improve their well-being. By integrating evidence-based therapy with a compassionate approach, I help dismantle unhealthy thought patterns and equip clients with practical tools they can use immediately.
In our first session, my primary goal is to create a safe and welcoming environment where you can openly share your experiences. I will take the time to understand how your people-pleasing patterns have negatively impacted your life and relationships. Together, will explore your unique story and challenges. I aim to provide you with hope by introducing practical tools and skills that you can begin practicing right away. It’s essential to acknowledge that people-pleasing behaviors are conditioned responses that can be unlearned over time. By the end of our session, you will have a clearer understanding of your journey and a sense of empowerment to begin making positive changes.
As a people pleaser myself, I have made my share of mistakes, but through those experiences, I learned valuable lessons that truly work. I understand how it can feel to be trapped in codependent and people-pleasing patterns, and I am passionate about helping others break free from these cycles. What I love most about my work is witnessing the steps my clients take towards self-love and empowerment. Their journeys inspire me to continue my path of growth, and together, we can create a supportive space for healing and transformation.
As a codependency therapist, I specialize in helping individuals who struggle with setting boundaries, expressing their thoughts and feelings, and often find themselves caught in the cycle of people-pleasing and overthinking. I understand the challenges you face and am here to provide support and guidance on your journey healthier relationships and a more empowered self. Together, we can work on building the skills you need to reclaim your voice and foster a more fulfilling life.
I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients identify unhelpful thought patterns and understand how these thoughts influence their emotions and behaviors. Together, we work to challenge distortions, build emotion regulation skills, and create healthier habits and more balanced thinking.
I use a warm, supportive approach based on AEDP to help clients feel less alone in their struggles. By creating a safe, caring relationship in therapy, we work together to gently process difficult emotions and build new, healing experiences that support emotional growth and resilience.
