9 years of experience

Hello! I'm a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) based in Illinois. I received my Masters from Bradley University in 2015. I have worked in a variety of settings over the past 9 years, which has given me broad experience and understanding of how to work with a diverse group of clientele. I specialize in providing individual therapy to woman and teens ages 13 and up.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, we'll start with introductions, a review of basic therapy guidelines and paperwork, and then we will dive into the specific challenges you're facing.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Having experienced my own fair share of life challenges, I will meet you where you are with compassion, non-judgement, and understanding. Therapy will go beyond coping skills and behavior changes, to transform your past into new possibilities, filled with purpose and meaning. I look forward to working with you!

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I has a special interest in women's issues, abuse and trauma, life transitions and spiritual counseling. I work from a strengths-based and trauma-informed perspective. I can provide a Christian perspective if you desire to incorporate your faith into your healing journey. For more info, please visit my website at jwctherapy.com

My treatment methods

Strength-Based

I view clients as resourceful and resilient in the face of adversity. I work to empower you to use your own resources, skills, and abilities to overcome challenges and achieve your goals.

EMDR

Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing is a highly effective treatment for resolving trauma. EMDR consists of an 8-step protocol which uses bilateral stimulation to process traumatic memories.

Christian Counseling

If desired, I will integrate religion and spirituality with evidence-based therapeutic approaches. This allows you to bring your “whole self” into the therapy room and develop coping strategies that make sense for your personal beliefs.

Integrative

I will integrate evidence-based treatment models to customize your therapy so that it considers your individuality while directly addressing your treatment goals and objectives.
