As a Latina and Brazilian, I bring a multicultural perspective to my work, with fluency in Spanish, Portuguese, French, and English. I have many years of experience supporting immigrant women and others from diverse backgrounds. I'm here to walk alongside you on your journey toward healing and self-discovery. Together, we'll work to challenge and reshape narratives that no longer serve you, build tools for resilience, and celebrate the strengths you bring. My approach is rooted in empathy, authenticity, and a deep commitment to honoring each client’s unique cultural experiences.
In our first session, you can expect a warm, open, and supportive environment where you can share your reasons for seeking support and any specific concerns you may have. Together you and I will discuss what you hope to achieve through therapy, allowing me to tailor future sessions toward those goals.
As a provider, my greatest strengths lie in my deep empathy, cultural humility, and commitment to creating a safe, nonjudgmental space for clients. I prioritize understanding each client’s unique background and experiences, especially in areas related to cultural identity, systemic oppression, and personal struggles. This empathy allows me to foster a genuine connection, helping clients feel seen and heard.
I utilize Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, or ACT. ACT is a type of psychotherapy that helps people build healthier relationships with their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. The focus is on accepting what’s outside your control while committing to actions that align with your values.
In my practice, I work collaboratively with clients to identify unhelpful thoughts or behaviors that may be contributing to some difficulties in their lives. CBT has shown effective results for a range of issues, from anxiety and depression to stress and self-esteem challenges. It provides practical tools and skills that clients can apply in their daily lives to manage their challenges more effectively.
In my practice, I apply principles of attachment-based theory to foster secure, supportive relationships with clients. I work to create a safe, empathetic space where clients feel understood and valued, recognizing that their early attachment experiences may shape their current relational patterns, emotional regulation, and self-concept.
I incorporate Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) techniques by teaching clients skills to manage emotions, improve relationships, and navigate challenges. I utilize core DBT components, including mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, etc.
I integrate an understanding of racial trauma into my practice to create a supportive space for clients who may be experiencing the effects of racism, discrimination, and social injustice. By recognizing how racial trauma can impact mental health, I’m better able to help clients explore and process these experiences. My goal is to provide tools and strategies to foster resilience and healing, acknowledging the unique challenges and the strength that clients bring to their journeys.
