Although I am not certified in the state for working with sex offenders, I have an extensive history of work with both adolescents and adult offenders. As a disabled Army Veteran, and doing an internship at Edward Hines VAMC, I am aware of the barriers that veterans may experience. Working with Veterans from all branches is one of my passions.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have been working with CBT,for over 10 years, both in the psychiatric hospital setting and in my clinical practice. I provided clients with the necessary coping skills to address their anxiety, depression and ongoing changes associate with life transtions.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

I have utilized this both with individuals and couples. Work with clients to identify maladaptive schemas that effect how they interact with others. Identifying ways in which a clinet is able to identify thinking errors and move to make changes to thier thinking, thus behavioral changes. Acceptance of change and identifying what they are able to change and what they are unable to change.

Couples Counseling

As indicateed in ACT. I use ACT with couples to assist couples in identifying how they communicate, interact, with each other and identify thinking errors

Person-centered (Rogerian)

Addressng where the client is at and working with them on goals they identify for change. Addressing how their experiences effect where they are today and where they have been.
