With over a decade of experience in behavioral health, recovery support, education, and community advocacy, I bring an integrative and trauma-informed approach to therapy that honors the complexity of each person’s story. My clinical work focuses on helping individuals navigate complex trauma, substance use disorders, co-occurring mental health concerns, attachment wounds, emotional dysregulation, and major life transitions with compassion, collaboration, and practical tools for healing. My clinical background includes work in outpatient therapy, homeless services, crisis stabilization, justice-involved recovery programming, and family mental health navigation. I have worked extensively with individuals impacted by chronic trauma, homelessness, incarceration, grief, relationship instability, and systemic barriers to care. Across these settings, I prioritize creating a therapeutic relationship grounded in safety, authenticity, empowerment, and nonjudgment. In addition to traditional psychotherapy, I incorporate integrative mental health perspectives that recognize the connection between mind, body, nervous system functioning, and overall wellness. Through advanced training in integrative mental health, Food as Medicine, nutrition and mental health, CBT, Emotional Freedom Techniques, ACT, Brainspotting, IFS-informed approaches, and trauma treatment, I help clients explore how factors such as sleep, nutrition, stress, nervous system regulation, and lifestyle patterns can influence emotional well-being. I believe healing is most sustainable when we address both psychological and physiological contributors to distress. My therapeutic style is relational, collaborative, and adaptable to the individual needs of each client. I draw from evidence-based modalities, mindfulness-based interventions,, somatic and nervous system-informed approaches, and trauma-focused care. Whether clients are seeking support for trauma recovery, substance use, anxiety, depression, burnout, emotional overwhelm, or personal growth, I strive to create a space where they feel seen, supported, and capable of meaningful change.

Hi and welcome to the first step in your healing journey. I understand that taking this first step can be difficult, but it is courageous and I'm here to support you on your journey. I have 15 years of experience in the mental health field working with adults, adolescents, children, and families with a wide range of mental health needs including anxiety, trauma, depression, grief and loss, parenting, and life stressors. My diverse background equips me to help people in different stages of life with a variety of needs. I truly enjoy working with children but I have a general belief that in-person care is the best option. I have treatment specific interest in treating anxiety disorders and the inevitable complications with daily life struggles that develop with anxiety-based symptoms. Anxiety is often linked to events that were experienced as traumatic or confusing in childhood or during our adult lives. I believe that everyone is unique as well as their life experiences therefore treatment interventions need to be individualized.

I have worked in many different settings, such as inpatient behavioral health units, outpatient group therapy programs, and community-based settings. I always try to be as flexible as I can to meet the needs of my clients. :-) If you need same day appointment, I always try to accommodate for my clients. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, mentally unsteady, or unsure how to move forward — you don’t have to carry that alone. I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and graduate of North Carolina State University. I work with adults navigating anxiety, burnout, life transitions, relationship stress, and questions of direction or purpose. Many of the people I support feel capable and motivated — yet internally worn down, struggling to feel grounded, present, or confident in themselves. My primary focus is helping clients stabilize emotionally and mentally — so you feel more anchored, regulated, and clear. From that place of steadiness, we begin to explore how you can grow into the fullest version of yourself, making the most of your strengths, values, and lived experience rather than trying to become someone you’re not. Therapy with me is not about pushing or fixing — it’s about creating a solid foundation where clarity, confidence, and meaningful change can naturally emerge. For those who find meaning and strength in their Christian faith, I welcome that as part of our work together — though spirituality is never required or assumed. You bring what matters to you, and we build from there.

You keep seeing everyone posting about being their best self, and showing up for themselves. Meanwhile you are just trying to be. Whatever that be, may be for the day. I believe that in order to be your best self, you must be authentic. What does that even look like? You must be true to what you’ve endured, the things that you have overcome…the good, the bad, and even the ugly moments. I help women to embrace them all. Then we take it a step further and look at building you up as a WHOLE. So your best self starts with where you are today and then we create a plan on where you want to be and who you want to become.

I’m a therapist who works with teens (13–17) and adults (18+) who are feeling overwhelmed, stuck in their heads, or just tired of holding everything together on their own. A lot of the people I work with look like they’re doing “fine” on the outside, but inside they’re dealing with anxiety, stress, low mood, or feeling like they’re falling behind in school, work, relationships, or life in general. In therapy, I offer a space where you don’t have to filter yourself or pretend you’re okay. Together, we focus on making sense of what you’re feeling, finding practical ways to cope, and helping you feel more grounded and in control of your day-to-day life. My motto is, “People do the best they can with the resources they have at that time.” I believe therapy can help individuals recognize, strengthen, and expand those resources as they work toward a healthier and more fulfilling life. I use cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) to support clients in understanding patterns, developing effective coping skills, and creating lasting change. I am committed to providing a compassionate and collaborative space where clients feel supported and empowered. I work with individuals facing life transitions, addiction, sexual dysfunction, eating disorders, emotional distress, and a wide range of life challenges. My goal is to help clients face obstacles with greater confidence, resilience, and self-compassion.

I’m a therapist who works with individuals navigating anxiety, depression, relationship patterns, and life transitions. Many of my clients are thoughtful, self-aware, and high-functioning, yet find themselves stuck in cycles of overthinking, emotional overwhelm, or patterns in relationships that don’t feel fulfilling. You may understand why you do what you do, but still feel unsure how to change it. In our work together, I focus on helping you connect the dots between your past experiences, current patterns, and the goals you have for your life. Through a collaborative and supportive process, we build both insight and practical tools so you can feel more grounded, confident, and in control. Over time, this work often leads to healthier relationships, improved emotional balance, and a stronger sense of self.

Welcome! I came to this work a little differently than some. After spending 16 years in my first career, I found myself sitting across from a therapist for the first time. That experience changed my life. It gave me not only a new perspective on myself but also a deep desire to help others in the same way. So, I made a big leap: I went back to school to become a therapist myself. Since then, it’s been over two decades of meaningful, often humbling work. I spent 21 years in community-based mental health and substance abuse treatment, and I was fortunate to serve as a contracted therapy provider for the Department of Defense—work that gave me a profound respect for the strength and resilience of those who serve. I’ve also worked in private group practice and provided therapy in intensive outpatient programs in Canada, gaining experience with a wide range of individuals and challenges along the way. In November 2021, I opened my own private practice. It’s been an incredible privilege to support individuals and couples in this more personal setting, and I truly value the relationships I build with each client. If you’re considering therapy, I want you to know you're not alone—and change really is possible.

I will like to take this opportunity to introduce myself as a licensed mental health therapist. I want to tell you a little about myself and my fieldwork experiences. I worked in this field for several years, along with various training, to assist clients in different areas. In the last several years, I worked in a mental health hospital with adolescents, substance abuse, and crisis intervention in various settings. People with trauma, depression, anxiety, OCD, bipolar disorder, and schizophrenia were some of the people I helped at work. I worked with individuals on career choices to increase their career paths to maximize success. I support individuals in their desire to become independent, and I do this by helping them identify their true potential.

Hellooo! I am a Licensed Clinical Psychologist living in Virginia. I received my doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Regent University in 2008. I have lived in many different places but mostly I grew up in eastern North Carolina and Europe. Having parents from western New York and southern West Virginia, I was raised in a "northern" household in a "southern" environment. I like to think these contrasts in my life have helped me learn to adapt and identify with many different types of people. While I value the privilege of being an American, I love what other nationalities contribute to my world. Standing beside my clients and walking with them through their difficult times is one of my greatest joys.
