I live in the Hampton Roads section of Virginia with my son and our dogs. I enjoy spending time at the beach or in the water somewhere, hiking, reading, and traveling.
I have been a licensed clinical social worker for over 20 years and have worked in the field of mental health both, in-patient and out-patient, for over 25 years. I use a combination of Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)and Rational Emotive (RET) therapies to guide patients toward a greater understanding of themselves with the goal of emotional equilibrium or “balance.” The large military presence in Hampton Roads has allowed me to work with active-duty personnel and their families.
I have successfully treated patients with depression, anxiety, Bipolar disorder, substance use disorders, and trauma histories.

Therapy is a space for curiosity, growth, and sometiems a little humor along the way. With over 20 years of experience in mental health, I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, and Intenal Family Systems (IFS) to create a personalized approach that meets each person where they are. I value the healing connection we have with nature and believe that feeling safe, understood, and genuinely seen can create the foundation for meaningful changes. Together, we can explore the impact of past experiences, make sense of the patterns that shape your life, and reconnect with what feels most authentic to you. My goal is to help you feel more grounded, whole, and able to live your life in a way that feels truly your own.
Hi, I’m Lisa, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Navy veteran, and busy mom who believes therapy can be meaningful without feeling overly clinical or uncomfortable. I especially enjoy working with veterans, helping professionals, caregivers, and people who are used to being “the strong one” for everyone else. Many of my clients are navigating anxiety, grief, relationship challenges, major life transitions, burnout, or difficulty setting boundaries without feeling guilty. They may look like they have everything handled on the outside while privately feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or unsure of what they need next. My personality is warm, genuine, and down-to-earth. I bring compassion, humor, honesty, and real conversation into the therapy.
I am Gregory a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and therapist. I am excited about the success my clients have accomplished. It is their discovery that is most interesting: for example, it is possible to change personality even though we have always been told it never happens! We approach this by exploring emotions that form the building blocks of personality. In this sort of work, I find that the most effective therapy happens when clients and I form a interpersonal therapeutic bond of trust. By the way, when I say that change is possible , I really believe it, and I am confident that if you are willing to work on what many would call impossible...building trust...you will leave our sessions feeling a sense of increased wholeness. (Today also marks the beginning of a new partnership with Teach America! I have loved Teach America since they began. Grow Therapy and I are offering 20 counseling sessions to Teach America members free of charge!)

It takes courage and strength to seek a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards change. If you are ready to take that step, I am here to support and empower you.

I'm a psychotherapist with 35-plus years of experience. After completing training in clinical social work and psychology at the University of Maryland (M.S.W., 1988) and Saybrook Institute (Ph.D., 1991), I began practicing as a family, couples and individual therapist. I have hosted on radio/podcasts, have written two books and thousands of self-help articles in my "Life's a Beach" column for nationwide Gannett media. I love working with clients in the here-and-now, and finding solutions to move forward with life. My primary goal is to help you help yourself. I will guide and coach you, not tell you what to do. Diagnostic labels are useful at times, but you are not your labels. I'm your thinking partner: We'll reason and think our way to what makes sense together.
First of all, I love what I do and to witness the positive changes clients make in their lives as a result of choosing therapy to help them accomplish what they want. Often the goal is to achieve symptom relief so as to not be overwhelmed by anxiety, mood disorders or be better able to manage the challenges of ADHD. Sometimes there is not a specific outcome identified but a need for ongoing support for dealing with life transitions or difficult people. Sometimes clients use therapy as a confidential sounding board where they can talk to an objective outsider about situations and sort out their perspective. I offer various ways to see and respond to situations that might otherwise not be considered. Your opinion as a client is the most important one and I will also honestly provide mine when asked for. I believe therapy can actually be something that you can look forward to and an opportunity to learn new skills to use long after you discontinue, and we can even have some fun and laughs along the journey.

Hello, My name Is Reginald Burgess. I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor. My specialty of interest is providing brief, short term counseling services to individuals seeking counseling to address anger issues, self esteem issues, and depression. I utilize many therapeutic techniques including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solutions Focused Therapy, Rational Emotive Therapy, Client-Centered Therapy and Motivational Interviewing. I hope you will consider me as someone who can assist you in addressing the issues and concerns you are struggling with.
I have experience working with people from all different backgrounds. My primary focus is working with men who are having difficulty with expressing and processing negative thoughts and feelings. I have a particular interest in working with first responders and members of the military.
I am motivated to join anyone who is motivated to take on life's challenges to become a better version of themselves! I am ready to take this journey with you!
I utilize a positive theoretical orientation which assumes that all individuals possess an innate desire for well-balanced emotional/mental health. I believe a person enters therapy with a strong wish, whether conscious or unconscious, to overcome obstacles and free themselves from constraints that are holding them back. I find that everyone needs a slightly different approach to accomplish these goals, so I adjust in technique for each specific challenge. I truly enjoy the experience of guiding my clients through this process and consider it a privilege to play such an important role in a person's life.
“Crying does not indicate that you are weak. Since birth, it has always been a sign that you are alive.”

Welcome—I’m truly glad you’re here. I bring a warm, grounded, and collaborative approach to this work, shaped by graduating with honors in my Master’s program and earning my Bachelor’s in Social Work with a Minor in Human Services. With 17 years of experience supporting at‑risk youth and families across Illinois, Kansas, and Missouri—and roughly five years in a direct therapeutic role—I’ve learned that healing is most powerful when mind, body, and spirit are invited into the process.
My background includes specialized training in DBT, ASIST, trauma‑responsive care, and emerging work with elders through grief support and medical assessments. My practice continues to expand as I deepen my understanding of military culture and the unique stressors faced by Service Members, Veterans, and their families. I am honored to now offer supportive therapeutic services to clients in the state of Virginia.
As a Licensed Massage Therapist, Somatic Therapy remains one of my first passions and is available for in‑person sessions. My work is guided by a simple belief:
~When people feel safe, seen, and supported, they naturally move toward wholeness.~
It’s an honor to walk alongside you as you reconnect with yourself and step into a life that feels grounded, authentic, and spiritually aligned.
