Hello! I'm La-Retha Brown, LPC, and I'm glad you're here.
Seeking therapy is a courageous first step, and my goal is to create a space where you feel heard, supported, and empowered to move toward the life you want. I believe that healing begins when people feel safe enough to be honest about where they are while also discovering the strengths they already possess.
I work with adolescents, adults, couples, and families experiencing anxiety, depression, life transitions, relationship challenges, grief, stress, trauma, self-esteem concerns, and difficulties managing emotions. Together, we'll identify patterns that may be keeping you stuck, develop practical coping strategies, and create meaningful goals that align with your values.
My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and solution-focused. I integrate evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Person-Centered Therapy, Strengths-Based Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and mindfulness techniques. I tailor treatment to meet your unique needs because I believe therapy is not one-size-fits-all.
Whether you're navigating a difficult season, rebuilding after loss, strengthening relationships, or simply seeking personal growth, I am committed to walking alongside you throughout the process.
Together, we'll work to help you shift from surviving to thriving—and empower you to shift the power back to yourself.
I look forward to being part of your journey.
Welcome and Congratulations on the decision to take this next step toward a better you! Counseling is designed to be a unique setting where a person, family or couple is able to reflect on their experiences within a safe environment. When people are able to feel truly supported in therapy they work towards self-actualization and meaning. My general goal during therapy is to meet client’s where they are at while asking tough questions and challenging client’s existing mental conceptions. My overall approach is to be actively engaged with each client to promote healing, growth and recovery.
Hello, I'm Dora Smith. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, in the state of Virginia and South Carolina. I am a former teacher who worked with the regular and special education environment. I received my Bachelor’s degree from the University of Alabama and my Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health from the University of the Cumberlands in Williamsburg, Kentucky. I work with individuals, couples, and adolescents to improve relationship concerns, self-esteem, depression, anxiety, post-partum, grief, life transitions, ADHD, PTSD, and addictions. I believe everyone can overcome their struggles with support and genuine effort.
Life transitions can feel overwhelming, whether you’re adjusting to parenthood, balancing care for both children and aging parents, or stepping into adulthood. My passion is helping you navigate these changes while staying true to yourself.
Each person’s journey is unique, and I aim to help you improve your life your way. Together, we’ll explore how your thoughts, actions, and emotions connect, then adjust them to support your goals. My approach is warm, person-centered, and celebratory—I’ll always acknowledge your progress along the way.
Welcome!
I came to this work a little differently than some. After spending 16 years in my first career, I found myself sitting across from a therapist for the first time. That experience changed my life. It gave me not only a new perspective on myself but also a deep desire to help others in the same way. So, I made a big leap: I went back to school to become a therapist myself.
Since then, it’s been over two decades of meaningful, often humbling work. I spent 21 years in community-based mental health and substance abuse treatment, and I was fortunate to serve as a contracted therapy provider for the Department of Defense—work that gave me a profound respect for the strength and resilience of those who serve. I’ve also worked in private group practice and provided therapy in intensive outpatient programs in Canada, gaining experience with a wide range of individuals and challenges along the way.
In November 2021, I opened my own private practice. It’s been an incredible privilege to support individuals and couples in this more personal setting, and I truly value the relationships I build with each client. If you’re considering therapy, I want you to know you're not alone—and change really is possible.

My background is rooted in social work, which means I’ve had the privilege of working with people from all walks of life—each with their own unique strengths, challenges, and stories.

My goal is to create a safe, collaborative space where you feel heard, supported, and empowered to move forward in your own way.
I help high-functioning adults reconnect with themselves and learn to trust their own judgment again.
Many of the people I work with are thoughtful, capable adults who have spent years taking care of everyone else while quietly struggling themselves. They often appear successful on the outside but privately feel anxious, emotionally exhausted, overwhelmed, or disconnected from who they used to be.
You may be recovering from betrayal, navigating a difficult relationship or divorce, struggling with perfectionism or people-pleasing, healing from trauma, or facing a major life transition. Together, we'll make sense of the patterns keeping you stuck, calm your nervous system, reduce shame, strengthen healthy boundaries, and build the confidence to make choices that align with your values instead of fear or self-doubt. Hello,
My name is Keith, I have been working with youth and adolescents in the mental health field for about thirteen years. I have worked with young people suffering from traumatic experiences (PTSD), to include physical, sexual, and emotional abuse. I have assisted young people with symptoms associated with depression and anxiety. Also, I have experience in assisting young people with self-esteem/self-worth issues. Further, I have assisted young people with tension within the home setting and ways he or she can navigate these feelings in a healthy manner.
Personally, I have two daughters that are my world and a very spoiled elderly dog. I enjoy sports, working out, and being outdoors. I have been described as very easy going and easy to talk to.
In my practice, the client comes first, and the conversation goes where he or she would like it to.
There is a way out. Those who come to see me are often at a crossroads, frustrated at how they are trying to deal with problems and seeking workable strategies and solutions to cope. Therapy is meant to be a space to feel welcome to talk about thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that are problematic. Understanding unhealthy behaviors, frustrations with life, and/or unsuccessful efforts to cope can help reveal the obstacles that may block your path to growth and desired outcomes.
I have over 15 years experience providing therapy and case management including in the areas of: Couples counseling; Anxiety issues; Medical and chronic pain issues; Phobias; Eating disorders and body image challenges; Post-residential and outpatient maintenance therapy for continued abstinence and sobriety from substance use and eating disorders; Fertility and conception issues; LGBTQ and gender concerns; and Couples counseling (without legal involvement).
I am distinguished by my training in Strengths Based Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral, Pain Reprocessing Therapy, Emotional Freedom "Tapping" technique, Acceptance and Commitment, Mindfulness, and Contemplative Care. I am licensed in CA, ID, VA, FL, TX, NJ, WA, and UT.
Why do we explore? So you can live a life YOU want to live!
** I do not provide forensically-focused clinical services for individuals/couples involved in active litigation, divorce proceedings, or child custody disputes, nor do I provide court-ordered evaluations or expert testimony**

Greetings! My name is Brian. I am a licensed counselor in Pennsylvania. I have worked with both long-term and short-term clients in residential treatment and outpatient settings since 2010. My straightforward approach includes aspects of Cognitive Behavior Therapy and Solution-Focused Counseling. I encourage clients to think deeply about the underlying feelings that drive their actions to release pain.
Thank you for taking the time to read my intro.
You may feel desperate, alone, and misunderstood. You feel like you are floating in the bottom of a lake and cannot see the light above you. Everyday, you feel like you are just going through the motions. If this describes you, then I may be the therapist for you. In my nearly twenty years of experience, I have helped people like you reach their potential and achieve the recovery that they needed. There is no set system or quick fix as others may promise, but I will walk down the road with you. My primary focus is on helping you deal with ambiguity. Often our thoughts and subsequently what we teach ourselves becomes rigid and fairly black and white. Using a pragmatic and authentic approach to therapy I try and help you be okay with things that are beyond your control and work with you to establish yourself as the protagonist in your own story. This is primarily accomplished through conversation and allowing you the client to guide the therapy in the direction it needs to go.

I believe therapy should be a partnership rather than a one-size-fits-all approach. Together, we identify your goals and develop a plan that fits your needs, using approaches such as CBT, ACT, IEMT, somatic techniques, and hypnotherapy when appropriate. My goal is to provide a safe, supportive space where you can feel understood, build resilience, and move forward with greater confidence and purpose.
I am Nelva, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) currently living and providing services in Northern Virginia. Raised in Washington, DC, where I completed my studies, including my Masters in Social Work at Howard University.
I understand the importance and courage of seeking professional help when there’s such a stigma associated with mental health. I believe in utilizing evidence-based practices to help individuals cope with mental health challenges in a meaningful way.
My name is Latifah, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 10 years of experience addressing anxiety, substance abuse addiction, relationship concerns, women issues, and reentry services for incarcerated men and women. I am deeply committed to my work as a mental health therapist, and it's a privilege to accompany brave individuals on their journey as they develop the tools to overcome life's obstacles.
