I have been working with men, women, and families for the past 20 years and am dedicated to helping people heal themselves and restore family units. My style of therapy is very eclectic and person centered, meaning, I focus on the needs of the individual rather than using the same approach on each person. I do believe in a Cognitive Behavioral Approach as well as Solution Focused therapy because a shift in the mind is key as well as finding appropriate solutions to help move you forward. Hi! I am Alyson Davis, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I am a millennial and military brat that grew up in Northern Virginia. Currently, I reside in Maryland and have licenses in both Maryland and Virginia. I am taking clients in both states via telehealth. For undergrad, I attended the University of Alabama (ROLL TIDE!) and for my graduate education and clinical training I practiced at Valdosta State University. The therapeutic modality I use the most often is Narrative Therapy. Using Narrative Therapy, I help clients change the problem stories in their heads to preferred stories to improve their behaviors, relationships, and life outlook. With this practice, I enjoy using journal prompts, metaphors, and media. I am not a trained Christian therapist, but I do identify as a Christian, and enjoy using all religion and spirituality in my practice, but it is not required. I am LGBTQ-IA+ affirming and believe in honoring and creating space for all identities in session. A personal joy of mine is working with Black clients who are first-timers in therapy to work on destigmatizing mental health and healing the impacts of white supremacy. More specifically, I prioritize supporting Black clients who grew up in predominantly White spaces who did not feel "Black enough." My favorite problem to work with is when someone says "I'm stuck," to help a client not only get moving but move in a healthy direction. In my personal life, I am married, am a mother to a sickle cell warrior son, have a wonderful bonus-daughter and playful Aussiedoodle. That being said, I have an appreciation for working with blended families and exploring dating post-divorce. For self-care I enjoy writing fiction, listening to 90's and 2000s R&B, and watching romcoms. Looking forward to helping your healing journey.

The woman who has it all together on the outside is often the one carrying the most on the inside. If you're high-achieving, dependable, and exhausted — not from laziness but from carrying too much for too long — this is the space you've been looking for. I'm Whitley Frazier, LCSW, and I specialize in trauma-informed therapy for women and teens navigating trauma, anxiety, emotional overwhelm, and major life transitions. My work is direct, warm, and grounded in approaches that actually produce change. EMDR is at the core of what I do. Unlike traditional talk therapy, EMDR works at a neurological level — helping your brain reprocess stored trauma so it no longer controls how you feel, react, and relate. The result isn't just feeling better temporarily. It's actually being different on the other side. You don't have to keep white-knuckling through life. Healing is possible — and you're worth it.

I am a licensed professional counselor in Virginia with 12+ years of professional work experience. I hold a BA in psychology, MA in clinical psychology, MA in educational leadership, PhD in counselor education and supervision, and a DBA with a focus in management. When I work with clients, listening to understand instead of hearing to respond is a priority. I believe it is imperative that I develop a sound understanding of my client's subjective worldview to meet them where they are and disrupt maladaptive thoughts and patterns of behavior. My objective is to collaborate with my clients in order to help them identify, address, and resolve matters that reinforce and/or contribute to their presenting concern(s). I have experience in helping clients with relationship issues, trauma and abuse, & motivation, self-esteem, and confidence, anxiety, adjustment issues, college and career readiness, couples, depression, family dynamics, gender identity, identity development, LGBT+, non-traditional relationships, men's issues. In our work together, I work with my clients to create an open and safe environment where thoughts and feelings can be shared without fear of judgment. Hello and WELCOME, I am so glad you are here. Taking the step to begin therapy can be scary, but you are worth it! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) based in Virginia, but also licensed in Indiana and Minnesota. I earned my Masters of Social Work from Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green, KY. Throughout my career I have had the privilege of working with youth and adults in outpatient and residential settings. I have also worked in medical settings serving individuals who have various stages of kidney disease, to include post transplant and individuals who may be struggling with substance misuse issues. In all of these experiences my goal has remained the same, which is to help others improve their lives one step at a time. Outside of the therapy space I enjoy spending time with the ones I love and creating new memories. "You are not obligated to win. I am an AK amputee, a person with a disability, a disabled person, a one-legged person, or as medical folks will say a person with a "residual limb" (I have never heard an amputee call their stump a residual limb). If you have been looking for a therapist and you see the photo they choose to put on their page, how many put their disability in their photo? That choice says something. I am also a psychotherapist with 50 years experience of providing therapy to adolescents, adults, and families. My identity shifted 10 years ago when my right leg was amputated above the knee (AK). The identity as a disabled person is not a sought after identity. In many ways being disabled sucks big time. Providing telehealth services would be one way for me to "hide" my disability. Just never point the camera toward my leg. I don't like my experience of me just walking into a room and my leg has already introduced me long before I say my name. I am looking for clients that are disabled in some way and want to work on not letting that "disability label " suck your lifeblood away.

My name is Jennifer Bailey, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Registered Drama Therapist. I help clients identify and pursue the goals that lead to a life filled with meaning, pride, and contentment. Now, you may be wondering: “What exactly is a Registered Drama Therapist (RDT)?” Simply put, it means I integrate elements of theater and creative expression into the therapeutic process. With me, you have options. You might choose a traditional talk-therapy session to explore your thoughts, emotions, and goals. Or, if words don’t feel like enough, you might try something more experiential—writing, movement, role-play, or even reimagining and practicing conversations that keep replaying in your mind. Talk therapy is a powerful tool for growth, but sometimes it takes more than words to truly process what’s happening inside. That’s where creativity can open new doors. Whether through conversation, movement, sound, or artistic expression, I provide a space where you can choose what feels most healing and helpful. I would be honored to support you—whether that’s working toward personal goals, processing difficult emotions, or making positive and lasting changes in your life.

Clients shouldn't have to be in therapy forever! Together, we'll co-create a balanced approach combining active listening with practical techniques, helping you reclaim your narrative and overcome obstacles. My clinical and holistic approach aims for deeper alignment and fulfillment—think more water, less soda. As an LCSW, I'm trained in EMDR, certified in Theta Healing, Reiki, Transformational Life Coaching, and Therapeutic Touch, and am a Master Practitioner in Neuro Linguistic Programming, Hypnotherapy, and Time Line Therapy. I provide a compassionate, judgment-free space to explore your wants, needs, and emotions. You know yourself best, and our work is about uncovering your truths rather than imposing mine. Together, we'll determine the tools and approaches that best suit your needs, ensuring you feel heard, validated, and empowered. The goal is to help you confidently manage challenges independently over time. We'll walk side-by-side, with you gradually taking the lead and me offering steady support. If you have pressing concerns, those always take precedence. Our sessions focus on understanding HOW you think, not just WHAT you think, exploring both conscious and unconscious beliefs and emotions. You'll leave with clear, actionable steps, such as mindfulness exercises, creative writing prompts, meditation, and breathwork techniques to regulate emotions and reclaim your narrative. Therapy isn't about fixing what's "broken" but enhancing alignment and fulfillment while overcoming obstacles. By focusing on your goals and measuring progress, we can eliminate stigma, leaving shame behind and empowering you toward greater self-awareness and fulfillment.

My aim is to help clients navigate major life transitions, anxiety, depression, and overwhelming stress — especially when life feels uncertain, heavy, or out of control. Whether you’re dealing with a big change, emotional burnout, or financial pressure, therapy with me is a place to slow down, get grounded, and start making sense of what you’re going through. I take a warm, supportive, but direct approach to therapy. I won’t just nod and listen, I’ll help you notice patterns, challenge what’s keeping you stuck, and build practical tools so you can feel more steady, confident, and in control of your life. My background is a clinical social worker working full time in medical social work so I witness people's life change every day in major ways. This has lead me to prioritize self care and build intentional ways to help myself and others manage stress. My top self-care activities include traveling, spending quality with family and friends, seeking out thrilling adventures, discovering new RNB music, and walking. I'm hopeful that we can identify some coping skills that work for you.

Hi, my name is Stephen As a Christian do you ever feel like you are letting God down, or like you are not being faithful enough because you have real-life problems? Problems In your relationship, emotionally, behaviorally, or even with substance abuse. Is it hard to be kind to yourself? I help individuals manage their anxiety, depression, or burnout by addressing the needs of your body, mind, and spirit using the bible. I integrate current counseling theories with sound biblical principles to help develop a stronger relationship with God, and a stronger you. Whether you are dealing with being overwhelmed, relationship issues, or cycles of anxiety and depression, I am here to help. Seeking therapy can seem scary and maybe even against some of the teachings you've learned in church, but you are making the right choice. You deserve a safe space to heal and grow. In our sessions together I will meet with you, and your spouse if you want, with compassion and evidence-based techniques while using biblical principles so you can overcome the hang-ups and habits holding you back. The research says that 1 in 4 people in the United States, at any given time, have mental health issues. This does not exclude the church. The average church in Virginia has 250 members attending on any given Sunday. That means that at least fifty people in your church service last Sunday are struggling with some type of mental illness or emotional problem. I work with churches to help them with ministering to the hurting, please let me help you.

Hello and welcome! I'm happy that you are viewing my profile. It means that you recognize that no one should travel through life's challenges and difficulties alone. Therapy is a very positive step in working through issues and striving to become your best and happiest self. Human beings are seekers of connection and the relationship between the therapist and client can be a very powerful and healing one. I have been on both sides of this relationship and have seen the powerful changes in both my clients and myself. I consider it an honor and a privilege to have someone put their trust in me enough to be able to be their most vulnerable selves and share their innermost thoughts with me. This is something that takes time and I work hard to earn that trust. Let me tell you a little about my education and experience. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with over 30 years of diverse experience in the field of social work. I received my BSW from VCU in 1993 and my MSW from VCU in 2014. I have worked in various roles throughout my career to include at-risk youth , Intellectual Disabilities, Serious Mental Illness, Intensive Community Treatment, Crisis services, Substance Use Disorders, Community Mental Health, Inpatient Psychiatric Facilities, and as a licensed therapist working with adults, couples, and older adults dealing with trauma, depression, anxiety, life transitions, grief, relationship challenges, substance use disorders, and problems with self esteem.

I am currently accepting new clients for individual sessions via teletherapy. I have been practicing as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Florida for the past 23 years and am also a Licensed Therapist in Virginia, largely with a focus in the areas of depression, anxiety, thought disturbance, addiction, emotion regulation, relationship distress, and self-esteem. I feel many of the responses we struggle with are connected to a traumatic event (or perceived trauma) from the past. Currently, my primary focus has been in the individual realm, with a focus on relationship growth. I will encourage you to prioritize the areas you wish to address in therapy and tailor my approach on an individual basis. I believe in client autonomy so the areas that are addressed are the areas you want to address. I draw on several treatment modalities (including, but not limited to, Internal Family Systems, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy) to allow you to further develop your strengths and help you meet all of your treatment plan goals at a speed that works best for you. I also have completed training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy as well as the Developmental Model for Couples and integrate both of these approaches into my relational therapy practice. Overall, I help you to see that managing the stressor is more important than just managing the stress as it will allow you to cope with anything that comes your way.

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs. Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
