I have over 12 years of experience providing therapeutic support to individuals with mental health and addiction-related diagnoses in both outpatient and inpatient settings. I work with children (ages 6 and up), adolescents, adults, and military members and their families, helping them navigate life’s challenges and stressors. Using Motivational Enhancement, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Brief Psychodynamic interventions, I address symptoms related to depression, anxiety, trauma, and abuse. My educational background includes a Master of Arts in International Studies from East Carolina University and a Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling from Walden University. I am also fluent in Spanish and offer therapy to Spanish-speaking individuals.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, we’ll begin with brief introductions before diving into the specific challenges you’re facing and what you hope to address in therapy. This is a space for you to share your experiences and concerns at your own pace. Together, we will develop a personalized treatment plan to guide our work in follow-up sessions, ensuring our approach aligns with your needs and goals. My goal is to provide a supportive, validating, and collaborative environment where you feel heard and empowered on your path to healing.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I offer a variety of telehealth resources to support you in achieving your treatment goals, making therapy accessible and convenient. I understand the importance of validation in the healing process, and I also provide education on practical coping skills that can be used consistently in daily life. My goal is to create a supportive and collaborative space where you feel heard, empowered, and equipped to navigate life’s challenges.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I am passionate about working with individuals who are ready to address the core issues impacting their well-being—those experiencing depressive episodes and anxiety who seek support through validation, education, exploration, and reflection.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is valuable in understanding how our thoughts influence our emotions and behaviors. As we examine these connections, we will also explore effective strategies to manage negative, distorted, and irrational thoughts that impact our feelings and actions, helping us regulate them more effectively.

Christian Counseling

Faith-based counseling is available and can be integrated into the therapy process, aligning with your personal belief system to provide support and guidance.

Motivational Interviewing

It is essential for individuals to feel validated in their experiences and emotions and to have a safe, judgment-free space to process them. Motivational Interviewing fosters this environment, enabling clinicians to meet individuals where they are in their therapeutic journey and support their growth at their own pace.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

Mindfulness-based therapy, combined with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), helps individuals decenter—a practice of observing thoughts and emotions with awareness, accepting them without attachment or reaction. This approach encourages letting go of distorted thinking and rumination, fostering a greater sense of presence and emotional balance.

Trauma Informed Care

Trauma-informed care provides a supportive approach to exploring trauma without requiring individuals to revisit every detail, reducing the risk of re-traumatization. Instead, the focus is on acknowledging that the trauma occurred and understanding its impact on the present, allowing for healing and growth in a safe and compassionate space.
