Hello! I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) based in Virginia. I received my Masters from Radford University in 2016 and have been practicing for about 10 years. I help adults and teenagers who are struggling with different issues such as anxiety, depression, life transitions, relationship issues, low self-esteem, etc. find an improved quality of life. No problem is too big or small to talk about.
The first couple sessions are more of me asking a lot of questions and getting an idea of where you are at in life and what your goals might be. Some clients come in knowing exactly what they want to work on and others enter their first session with just a vague idea that they need some help. Both are valid, both can be worked with. The most important thing is that you are looking for and open to help.
From working with many clients and providers in the past, it is important that you feel listened to. I can provide a safe, non judgemental place to share what you are feeling.
I work with adults and teenagers who are genuine about wanting to work on and improve themselves. Together we will find goals that fit your needs to get you to be the best YOU possible. I have worked with people struggling with mental health issues of all types. Sometimes people do not have a specific mental health problem but are instead struggling with life issues such as transitions, stress, relationships, etc and just need someone to talk to.

I often use Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) which examines our negative thought patterns and habits. These patterns are often what is causing anxiety, depression, increased stress, and other issues.
Mindfulness is an extremely important and often neglected aspect of ourselves that is vital to gaining full insight into our emotions.
Motivational Interviewing is a highly effective method of helping you figure out what you want out of life by asking questions and providing feedback. These questions and feedback can help you realize what is best for you.
