Hello! I am Amanda, counselor of 18 years, wife of 20 years, and mother for 13 years and counting. I have been a resident of the North Austin area for the last five years and am a Texas native, though I did spend some time growing up in the beautiful mountains of Colorado. Hello! My name is Donyell Davis and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) based in Texas. I earned my Master’s in Social Work with a focus on Services to Children and Families from Our Lady of the Lakes University. I have 14 years of experience in the social work field working with diverse populations. My clients often describe me as empathetic, compassionate, and attentive. I pride myself on being an open-minded lifelong learner with a keen interest in evidence-based practice interventions. I chose to become a therapist because I discovered that blending the heart of a social worker with the professional skill set of an effective therapist profoundly enhances individuals’ quality of life. What sets me apart is my collaborative approach: we embark on this journey together to develop a treatment plan tailored to your unique needs, without rushing the process. I enjoy working through issues that I have personally experienced like being a single parent, losing a spouse and the affects it has on the family system, raising a child with a disability, work-life balance, unhealthy relationships, lack of a support system, absence of a positive role model early in life, navigating life challenges, obtaining personal growth, and communication skills.

I believe talk therapy is a power tool. It can heal. It can empower. It can bring about the kind of changes you seek. In order for talk therapy to really work, you must feel connected to and trust the therapist you work with so I encourage you to find the right fit. We will start where you are and, together, we will explore new ways of making your life more manageable. To struggle is to be part of the human experience. Struggle can be a motivator for change. Those self-defeating thoughts are not who you are. These life circumstances do not have to define your whole life.

Most recently I have broadened my scope of practice to include my Chemical Dependency Counseling license and Certification in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. I’m a therapist who sees and treats you as a unique individual — not just a diagnosis or a checklist of symptoms. My goal is to meet you where you are, walk with you through your journey, and support you in reaching a place where you’re not just surviving, but truly thriving. I offer therapy grounded in compassion, care, and consistency. I believe in holding space for both grace and accountability — creating a safe environment where you can be honest with yourself, challenge unhelpful patterns, and grow. Together, we’ll work to identify and confront the distorted thoughts and false beliefs that often fuel anxiety, depression, and disconnection. My deepest desire is to help you break free from cycles that keep you stuck and to support your movement toward healing, clarity, and wholeness.

I provide a warm, nurturing, & faith-honoring space for young adults & moms who are navigating anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, & major life transitions. I specialize in supporting individuals who often carry the emotional weight of expectations, responsibilities, & caregiving—while quietly struggling to care for themselves. For young adults, therapy can be a place to process academic pressure, identity development, faith questions, relationship challenges, & the emotional overwhelm that often comes with stepping into adulthood. For moms, I offer compassionate support through the emotional shifts of motherhood, postpartum adjustment, self-doubt, & the desire to remain grounded in both faith & self-care. My approach gently integrates Christian & Catholic values for those who wish to include faith as part of their healing journey, honoring the mind, body, & spirit. Whether you’re seeking calm amid racing thoughts, relief from emotional heaviness, or a renewed sense of purpose & confidence, I walk alongside you with empathy, understanding, & encouragement. Together, we’ll navigate the tides of life & create space for peace, healing, & renewal. I welcome you to begin your journey toward finding your own mental oasis—even in the midst of life’s waves. 🌊 *Sessions are available in English & Spanish.

I work with individuals from diverse backgrounds who are navigating emotional challenges, life transitions, stress, or changes that have affected their overall well-being. This may include anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, relationship concerns, self-identity, career transitions, chronic or medical conditions, and other significant life experiences. As a retired Naval veteran, I bring personal insight into military culture, service-related experiences, and the unique challenges that may accompany transitions to civilian life. My experience spans both medical and mental health settings, including supporting military-affiliated individuals and people living with chronic illness. I strive to provide a safe and supportive space where clients can better understand themselves, strengthen coping skills, build resilience, and move toward meaningful change at a pace that feels right for them.
