I am licensed in Texas with 8 years of professional work experience. I have worked as a high school counselor for the past 9 years. Through my years working as a high school counselor I have worked with not only students, but family members, and staff as well. I have had the ability to help clients in areas such as anxiety, depression, self harm, trauma, eating disorders, self esteem issues, relationship issues, and career choices. Being a school counselor has given me the opportunity to work with a diverse group of counseling areas, and clients.
During my first session I like to get to know a little about my client, let them tell me a little about themselves, their family, lifestyle, and why they decided to seek therapy. If the client feels comfortable, we may also discuss goals they may want to work towards while in therapy.
I believe that some of the strengths I have as a provider are patience, empathy, genuine care for my patients, as well as my own past experiences, and self-growth.
I feel that based on my past experiences the clients I feel I am able to best associate with are clients who may be dealing with anxiety/depression, past trauma, family conflict, career transitioning, self-esteem, and relationship issues.
My approach combines cognitive-behavioral, humanistic, existential, and interpersonal therapy. I work with my clients to create an open and safe environment where thoughts and feelings can be shared without fear of judgment. Taking the first step to seeking a more fulfilling and happier life takes courage. I am here to support you in that process.
