Hi, I’m Ashley Griffin, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over a decade of experience supporting adults as they navigate life’s challenges and transitions. I specialize in helping clients feel more grounded, self-aware, and empowered during moments that feel overwhelming, uncertain, or emotionally heavy. I provide a supportive, nonjudgmental space for people who are struggling with stress, self-esteem, grief, trauma, or relationship challenges—especially those related to gender-based or interpersonal violence. Using a trauma-informed and strength-based lens, I incorporate Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Person-Centered Therapy, and other evidence-based approaches to meet each client’s unique needs. My goal is to help you reconnect with your values, build effective coping strategies, and feel more like yourself again. Whether you’re feeling stuck, burned out, emotionally drained, or simply trying to find your way through a new season of life, I’m here to help you move forward with compassion, clarity, and purpose.
In our first session, we’ll take time to get to know each other. I’ll ask questions to better understand what brought you to therapy, what you’re hoping to get out of it, and any important aspects of your background or identity you’d like me to know. You can share at your own pace—there’s no pressure to dive into everything all at once. We’ll talk about what therapy might look like moving forward, and I’ll share more about my approach so you feel informed and supported. Most of all, I want you to leave that first session feeling heard, respected, and reassured that this is a space where your healing and growth matter.
I’m deeply empathetic, nonjudgmental, and skilled at helping clients feel safe and supported—especially when they’re sharing parts of themselves that feel difficult or vulnerable. I have a strong ability to build rapport and create trusting relationships, which allows clients to explore sensitive issues at their own pace. I also bring deep clinical experience and advanced training in trauma, organizational stress, grief, and emotional overwhelm. I have worked successfully with many types of people navigating a range of life experiences. From families navigating conflict, sexual violence in a university setting, supporting families navigating cancer, to women challenged with infertility and loss- these experiences have molded me as a clinician and allowed me to work from a place where my client is always at the center of the therapeutic process. I’m highly adaptable and use a range of therapeutic strategies to meet people where they are, helping them clarify their goals, reconnect with their values, and move forward with purpose.
I work best with adults who are experiencing significant life transitions or emotional overwhelm—whether due to career shifts, relationship stress, grief and loss, or unresolved trauma. Many of my clients are navigating burnout, identity challenges, or self-esteem issues, and are looking for a therapist who can help them feel seen, supported, and empowered. I also specialize in working with individuals who have experienced gender-based or relationship violence, including those healing from emotionally or physically abusive relationships. I’m especially passionate about supporting women, caregivers, helping professionals, and clients who carry a lot for others but need space to care for themselves. If you’re feeling stuck, questioning your worth, or searching for a way to reconnect with your purpose and peace, I may be a good fit for you.
I use ACT to help clients move through difficult emotions and life challenges by focusing on what truly matters to them. Instead of trying to eliminate painful thoughts or feelings, ACT helps us build psychological flexibility—so you can respond to life with intention, not just reaction. Together, we’ll explore how your values can guide meaningful action, even in the face of stress, uncertainty, or loss. This approach supports clients in feeling more grounded, present, and connected to their personal goals.
Person-Centered Therapy is foundational to how I build therapeutic relationships. I prioritize creating a space where you feel safe, seen, and heard—without judgment. Through this supportive environment, we’ll explore your experiences at your own pace, and I’ll encourage self-reflection and self-trust as we work toward your goals. I believe you are the expert on your life, and my role is to walk beside you with empathy and authenticity.
REBT helps us look at how our beliefs—especially the ones we’ve carried for years—shape our emotional responses and behavior. We’ll explore the connection between thoughts, emotions, and actions, and challenge beliefs that may be limiting your growth. This method is especially helpful for clients struggling with shame, self-doubt, or emotionally reactive patterns. I use REBT within a trauma-informed and strength-based framework to support personal growth and emotional freedom.
Solution-Focused Therapy is a great option when you want to focus on what’s working and build on your existing strengths. In our sessions, we’ll identify your goals and explore practical, achievable steps to move you forward. Whether you’re facing a new challenge or feeling stuck, SFBT helps us find hope and momentum. I use this approach alongside other supportive strategies to help you stay grounded and motivated through life’s transitions.
