Greetings! I’m a Licensed Therapist (LMHC in Florida, LPC in Texas) and hold Counseling Authorization in North Carolina to support mental health efforts following the devastation of Hurricane Helene. I also hold an International Registration in Play Therapy since 2000. Throughout my career, I’ve worked in medical centers, community clinics/agencies, and private practice. My background includes both outpatient and inpatient care, working with children, adolescents, and adults in individual and group settings. I have delivered parenting group sessions on multiple occasions and created the Victim Services Program in Greater Austin Area, Texas. I also participated in a joint effort to provide immediate mental health care within pediatric primary care clinics in the Dallas-Forth Worth Area for several years. In 2005, I was closely involved in supporting displaced individuals and families who relocated to Texas due to Hurricane Katrina. I am bilingual (English-Spanish) and multicultural. With over 28 years of experience, I bring a compassionate, grounded, and practical approach to helping individuals and families navigate life’s challenges. Whether you're facing anxiety, grief, work-related stress, parenting burdens, major life transitions, or struggling with self-esteem or women's issues, I offer a safe and supportive space where healing and clarity can begin. I draw from a variety of therapeutic methods—including Humanistic, Motivational Interviewing, and Faith-Based approaches. I believe each person holds the seeds of growth and change, and my role is to help you discover your inner strength, wisdom, and direction. My professional background, ongoing training, and continuous curiosity have given me a deep appreciation for the interconnectedness of all aspects of the human being. Together, we’ll focus not only on symptom relief but on building long-term resilience, insight, and tools for meaningful change.
In our first session, we’ll focus on getting to know one another—what brings you to therapy, your current challenges, personal background, and your hopes and goals for the work ahead. I’ll ask questions to better understand your history and current life context, as well as any emotional or relational concerns you want to address. This initial session is the beginning of a general assessment, which may continue across several sessions so we can build a fuller picture together—at a comfortable pace. We’ll begin identifying the goals most important to you—whether it's managing anxiety, navigating change, healing from grief, or increasing self-confidence. Throughout the process, I’ll support you in discovering your own insights, values, and priorities in a space that is safe, respectful, and deeply supportive.
What sets my work apart is the balance of nonjudgmental presence, deep insight, practical guidance, and personalized care I bring to each session. I specialize in helping highly motivated adults who feel stuck, emotionally blocked, or lost in transition—those who are ready to take responsibility for their well-being but need clarity and support to move forward. My therapeutic style is collaborative and purpose-driven. Clients often seek my support during periods of anxiety, grief, self-doubt, or life shifts. Together, we identify what’s holding them back—whether internal beliefs, emotional wounds, or relational patterns—and develop tools and mindset shifts that empower lasting transformation. You don’t have to figure it all out alone. With compassionate support and clear, practical guidance, we’ll focus on what truly matters to you—so you can begin to feel more grounded in your choices, stronger in your relationships, and more connected to your purpose.
I specialize in working with adults who feel overwhelmed, stuck, or emotionally drained—and who are ready to take meaningful steps toward a more grounded, fulfilling life. You may be navigating a life change that’s left you uncertain, facing anxiety that’s interfering with your peace of mind, or carrying grief, pressure, or self-doubt that feels too heavy to manage alone. You might find yourself functioning on the outside, but struggling internally—juggling responsibilities while longing for clarity, calm, and a deeper sense of purpose. Maybe you're tired of repeating the same patterns or feeling emotionally disconnected from the person you know you could be. In our work together, I’ll help you uncover what’s been holding you back and develop the insight, tools, and emotional resilience to move forward. You'll have a safe space to process your experiences, learn how to manage stress more effectively, and reconnect with your strengths and values. You’ll begin to feel more confident in your decisions, clearer about your direction, more in control of your life, and with greater emotional freedom. When you're ready to take the next step toward greater clarity, balance, and emotional freedom, schedule your first session. I’ll be here to support you every step of the way.
In my work, I believe that every person has an inner drive toward growth, healing, and wholeness. That’s the foundation of the humanistic approach—to view you not as a diagnosis or a problem to be solved, but as a whole person with wisdom, potential, and a unique story that matters. I primarily draw from Person-Centered Therapy, which means I offer you a space that is deeply respectful, empathic, and nonjudgmental. I don’t assume the role of expert over your life—instead, I walk beside you as you rediscover who you are, what you feel, and what you truly want. This kind of therapeutic relationship creates the conditions for change by fostering trust, self-acceptance, and personal clarity. In addition to the emotional and psychological dimensions, I view each client as a whole being—which includes the physical body, social environment, relationships, and often a spiritual or transcendental dimension. Inspired in part by Jungian psychology, I honor those deeper layers of experience: dreams, symbols, intuition, and the search for meaning beyond the immediate. These are important parts of the healing journey for many people. Depending on your needs and preferences, I may integrate evidence-based mind-body tools like EFT (tapping), breath work, or guided imagery among other tools to help release emotional blockages, calm the nervous system, and deepen self-awareness. These practices are gentle, effective, and empowering—especially for clients who are ready to engage both cognitively and somatically in their healing. Ultimately, my goal is to support you in becoming more fully yourself—grounded, alive, and connected—to your truth, your relationships, and your sense of purpose.
Many of the clients I work with are highly motivated to grow—but they still feel stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure about how to move forward. That’s why I use Motivational Interviewing (MI)—a collaborative and respectful approach that helps you explore what’s getting in the way and reconnect with your own reasons for change. In MI, I don’t tell you what to do or push you in a certain direction. Instead, we work together to gently uncover the inner voice that already knows what matters to you. We look at the ambivalence—those “yes, but…” moments—and give them space, so you can gain clarity and make choices that truly reflect your values. This approach is especially helpful during life transitions or when you’re facing big decisions. It supports personal responsibility, but in a compassionate and nonjudgmental way. I believe that you are the expert in your own life, and MI helps bring that wisdom to the surface. To support this process, I may integrate mind-body tools like EFT (tapping), breath work, or guided imagery—especially when you’re feeling emotionally blocked or disconnected. These practices can help you regulate your nervous system, reduce anxiety, and get back in touch with your goals on a deeper level—not just mentally, but emotionally and physically. By combining Motivational Interviewing with holistic tools, I help you move from feeling stuck to feeling empowered—able to take steady, meaningful steps toward the life you want to live.
For many of the clients I work with, faith and spirituality are essential parts of who they are—not just beliefs, but living sources of strength, meaning, and guidance. That’s why I offer faith-based therapy for those who want their spiritual or religious values to be included in the healing process. I believe that emotional, mental, physical, and spiritual well-being are deeply interconnected. When we explore life’s challenges—such as grief, anxiety, low self-worth, or a loss of direction—it's important to include the spiritual dimension of your experience if that’s meaningful to you. Whether you're drawing from a specific tradition or a more personal sense of connection to something greater, I create space for that part of your identity to be fully honored. In our work together, your faith is not treated as a side note—it becomes a resource. It may help you understand your pain, find peace in uncertainty, or reconnect with your values and purpose. If you come from a Christian background, and you request it, we may also include prayer, scripture, or Christ-centered reflection as part of your journey. At the same time, I integrate evidence-based tools such as breath work, guided imagery, and Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) to support emotional release, regulate your nervous system, and reduce stress or anxiety. These practices align beautifully with many spiritual traditions because they bring you into stillness, presence, and embodiment—qualities that deepen self-awareness and connection with the Divine. My approach is never about imposing beliefs. It’s about meeting you where you are, offering tools and guidance that resonate with your faith, and supporting you in becoming more grounded, whole, and spiritually aligned as you move forward.
