I have over a decade of experience working with people as they navigate life transitions. I understand struggling and feeling overwhelmed, and believe that adding support and guidance can help alleviate life's stressors.
I've worked multiple years as a therapist in a community mental health center, a partial hospitalization program, and a nursing home. I try to understand where you are starting and where you are trying to go. I believe that there is value in humor, storytelling, and understanding different perspectives.

I’ve worked in a wide range of mental health settings—including inpatient and outpatient programs, schools, juvenile detention, family-based services, universities, prisons, and private practice—which has given me a deep understanding of how mental health needs evolve across the lifespan.
After seeing how limited access to care was in rural Pennsylvania, I became an early advocate for telemental health. Today, I offer both virtual and in-person counseling, giving clients the flexibility to choose what feels most comfortable and accessible for them.
Starting my own practice during the pandemic allowed me to create a healthier work-life balance while dedicating my full attention to providing compassionate, high-quality care. My goal is to meet you where you are, help you feel understood, and support you in building the tools you need to move forward with confidence and peace.

You might be here because life feels heavier than it should, your thoughts won’t slow down, or you’re tired of trying to hold everything together on your own. As a licensed therapist in Pennsylvania, I work with people who are navigating stress, anxiety, depression, ADHD, self‑doubt, and the everyday challenges that can leave you feeling overwhelmed or stuck.

Together, we’ll explore what’s getting in the way, build practical tools you can use in real life, and create space for you to feel understood without judgment.
I draw from evidence‑based practices, but just as importantly, I bring compassion, curiosity, and respect for your unique story. Hi, I'm a therapist with over thirty years of experience working with individuals, couples, and families and historically getting positive results. I tend to work with families with special members such as teens and seniors. I have always worked with teens as it seemed to be a population others found difficult, but I liked the challenge. Now that I am a senior, I better understand the needs of our demographic. I tend to utilize a Family Systems approach which sees the individual in a family context as the majority has grown up in some form of family, whether related by blood or not. I've also taught Marriage and Family Therapy through what is now Drexel University's Family Therapy Program and have offered professional Supervision as a Clinical Member and Approved Supervisor of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy. By working with the client in a collaborative, goal setting manner, faster more positive results seem to be achieved.

You already know something is not working. Maybe it shows up in your relationships, your stress, or patterns you cannot seem to shake. I help you name it plainly and work on changing it. With a background spanning children, teens, and adults across individual, group, and family settings, I bring a direct, honest approach I call caring confrontation: pointing to what is not serving you, then working with you on what comes next. We all have these things to look at. I am no exception. If that sounds like what you need, I would love to connect.
Hello, and welcome — I’m so glad you’ve landed on my profile! I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Behavior Specialist in Pennsylvania. I earned my Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and have been working in the mental health field since 2014.
Most of my career has been in Intensive Behavioral Health Services (formerly BHRS), where I served as a therapeutic staff support (TSS), mobile therapist, and behavioral specialist. I worked primarily with children ages 2–16, much of that time in elementary school settings. My work focused on supporting children on the autism spectrum, as well as those with ADHD and mood disorders, while collaborating closely with parents and teachers.
I also have experience as an in‑house school therapist, again working with elementary‑aged students and their parents. Although my background is rooted in child and family work, I have also supported adults through IBHS and outpatient settings. Throughout my career, I’ve spent meaningful time counseling families and partnering with educators, giving me a well‑rounded understanding of the challenges parents and teachers face.
I am a therapist who specializes in Addiction Recovery, Anxiety and Depressive Disorders. I prefer a Biopsychosocial approach to therapy. I recognize that past trauma, maladaptive thought patterns and environment contribute greatly to how we perceive others and how we "show up" in the world. My job is to challenge thought patterns and support growth while clients empower themselves to make change and develop strategies to improve circumstances.
I believe you are capable of living the life you want. Through self awareness, recognizing your strengths and determining what motivates you, I believe that you have the power to change when given access to the proper insight, information and tools. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Behavior Specialist using both emotion focused and cognitive behavioral strategies to motivate and create change. I create a safe environment in which you can truly be yourself, explore life's challenges and maybe even learn to laugh at yourself in the process.
I specialize in the treatment of depression, anxiety, adjustment disorders, trauma, grief, as well as family issues related to codependency and addiction. I also have extensive experience in working with families of children with behavioral health diagnoses, such as Autism, childhood PTSD, and ADHD. I also see adolescents ages 12 and up.
I believe in actively engaging my clients through a combination of approaches which are determined by both of us. This is your life and your therapy. I want to help you get the most out of both. I offer evening and weekend hours. I also offer LPC, LCSW, LMFT supervision hours to interested clinicians.
I am Jennifer Murphy, and I offer a variety of services within my practice. I specialize in substance abuse, borderline personality disorder, first responders, trauma, depression, anxiety, couples counseling, and survivors of narcissistic abuse. I use various treatment modalities so that I can offer a tailored treatment plan to my clients versus a cookie cutter approach. I tend to provide a lot of information about diagnosis and treatment. I try to teach my clients many different skills, so they will always have something that works in their toolbox. My number one concern for therapy is that my clients are receiving the best care possible that suits their needs.
