(she/her)
Hello, and thank you for stopping by. My name is Evelyn Mejias, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over a decade of experience helping individuals navigate life's emotional challenges. I provide telehealth therapy that is compassionate, culturally sensitive, and grounded in evidence-based approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). I specialized in working with adults who are facing anxiety, depression, a life transition, trauma, or the everyday overwhelming that can come from juggling multiple roles and responsibilities. I also offer support to individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds, and I am deeply committed to creating a space where people feel seen, safe, and empowered. My goals are to help you understand yourself better, challenge unhelpful patterns, and build the inner tools you need to feel more balanced, confident, and in control of your life. Therapy is not about changing how you are—it is about helping you reconnect with your strengths and move forward in a way that aligns with your values. Whether you are new to therapy or returning to it, I welcome the opportunity to walk alongside you.
Our first session is all about getting to know each other and creating a space where you feel safe, respected, and heard. I will take some time to understand what is bringing you to therapy, what is been going on in your life, and what you are hoping to gain from this process. We will go at your pace-there is no pressure to share everything right away. I may ask about your current concerns, your background, and your support system. We will also talk about what therapy looks like with me, and I will answer any questions you may have. This session helps me get a fuller picture of who you are, so I can tailor our work together in a way that feels supportive and meaningful for you. My goal is for you to leave the session feeling heard, understood, and a little more hopeful about what is ahead.
What stands out about my approach is how I blend clinical expertise with deep empathy and cultural sensitivity. I bring over a decade of experience as Licensed Clinical social worker, supporting individuals from diverse backgrounds through some of the most personal and life-changing moments of their lives. In my practice, I integrate evidence-base methods like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to help clients build insight, develop tools, and create real, lasting change. But therapy with me is not just about techniques- it is about relationship. I create a space where clients feel seen and safe, where their identities and experiences are honored, and where healing happens at a pace that feels right for them. What makes me unique is my ability to balance structure with warmth. I know when to offer guidance and when simply hold space. My clients often share that they feel empowered, understood, and better equipped to handle life's challenges after working together. My background includes working in community mental health, integrated health settings, immigration, and telehealth environments. These experiences have given me a deep understanding of how mental health is influenced by physical health, social factors, trauma history, and cultural identify. I meet clients where they are- with respect, flexibility, and unwavering belief in their capacity to grow. If you are looking for a therapist who offers more than just listening ear-someone who will help you explore, heal, and move forward with purpose- I had been honored to support you on that journey.
I am best positioned to serve adults who are feeling emotionally stuck, overwhelmed, or uncertain about how to move forward-but who are ready to explore healing in a safe, supportive space. If you are reading this and wondering if therapy can help you feel more in control of your life, the answer is yes-and you do not have to do it alone. 1. The overwhelmed caregiver or professional- You are constantly doing for others, but somewhere along the way, you lost yourself. You are exhausted, emotionally drained, and craving space to just be without pressure or judgment. 2. The high-achieving who is silently struggling- On the outside, you appear composed and capable, but inside, anxiety, self-doubts, or old wounds keep resurfacing. You want tools to manage your emotions and reconnect with your sense of worth. 3. The healing soul with a complex past- You have been through trauma or difficult life transitions, and while you have survived, you are ready to thrive. You want to process the past and break patterns that no longer serve you.
In our work together, we will use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, or CBT. This practical, hands-on method helps people understand how their thoughts, feelings, and behavior are connected.
One of the approaches I also offer is called Dialectical Behavior Therapy, or DBT. It is especially helpful if you have ever felt like emotions take over or if you had a hard time staying control when things get overwhelming. DBT give you a set of practical skills to manage stress, handle emotions, and improve your relations-without ignoring or denying your experiences. It is based on two big ideas accepting yourself and you are, while also working toward the changes you want in your life.
In culture-sensitive therapy, I actively consider how a client's cultural background, values, and lived experiences shape their understanding of mental health, relationships, and healing. I create a respectful and inclusive space where clients feel seen and heard for who they are, not just their symptoms. In my practice, I use this approach by asking open, nonjudgmental questions, being mindful of cultural strengths, and stressors, and adapting therapeutic tools to be relevant and meaningful to each Indvidual's unique identify.
