I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with a telehealth practice licensed in Pennsylvania and Virginia, and over 23 years of experience in the mental health field working with children, teen and adults. . I specialize in trauma, anxiety, depression, relationship stress, and life transitions, and I work from a warm, collaborative, and supportive approach.
My work blends talk therapy with somatic practices, self-compassion, mindfulness, and pattern-tracing to help you better understand yourself and what keeps you stuck. Many clients come to me feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or caught in cycles of self-doubt and overthinking. Together, we slow things down, explore what’s happening beneath the surface, and build practical tools that support real, lasting change.
I also help clients gently connect how past experiences may still be impacting present-day emotions, relationships, and self-worth, while building a more grounded and compassionate relationship with themselves.

Hi, I am so glad you have decided to take a step in healing from your past.
I specialize in working with people who grew up in families where there was some type of instability or turmoil. This could have been from addiction, mental health, abuse, neglect, anger, poverty, foster care placement, religious trauma or anything that caused some form of trauma. Oftentimes times those who grew up in this type of situation feel responsible for it or that somehow they should have fixed it.

Hi, I’m Kendal McDowell and I have years of experience working with teens and older, with a primary focus on working with college students and college athletes. I believe everyone is on their own unique path, and sometimes that path can feel stressful or overwhelming. My goal is to support your growth and empower you with the tools and confidence to navigate life’s challenges with greater ease.
Building a genuine connection with clients is at the heart of my work. I strive to create a safe, non-judgmental, and supportive space where you feel heard and understood. I have an LPC and an LMFT and have been seeing clients since 1996. I have extensive training in helping people who are going through or have experienced narcissistic abuse and any form of childhood trauma, this includes verbal and emotional abuse, family addictions, or any early childhood experience that would cause one to feel unsafe. I am also experienced in the treatment of anxiety, worry and mood concerns and work with addictions, obsessive compulsive behaviors and any poor coping skills or core beliefs that were developed in order to manage these stressors. I use practices primarily focused on somatic and cognitive therapy but also utilize acceptance commitment therapy, internal family systems, mindfulness and am solution focused. I use homework and assignments aimed at regulating the nervous system in order to repair the fight/flight/freeze response that is often stuck on due to a continuous history of a variety of life stressors (trauma). This trapped and stored trauma continues to trigger the nervous system to respond in ways where we continue to feel unsafe, even after the threats have passed. By working with the nervous system to release this trapped trauma and find safety, we can then have the opportunity to respond to the world differently.

I have dedicated my career to learning how to help individuals, couples and families heal from trauma, depression, anxiety, couples, parenting & family issues. I am an ally & I proudly provide a safe space that celebrates individuals from all lifestyles, preferences and presentations!
I use EMDR, DBT, Mindfulness Based CBT, Trauma Focused CBT, ERP and Energy Tapping. I am also trained as a Mindfulness Facilitator. We can incorporate all of these types of treatment in sessions based on what you are interested in exploring as a part of your own healing journey.

Hi, I am Tara Dickman and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and obtained my Master of Science in Counseling and Human Relations from Villanova University. If you feel overwhelmed by anxiety, navigating a tough life transition or feeling disconnected in your relationships, you have landed in the right place. I specialize in working with children and adolescents experiencing behavioral challenges, individual adults, couples and families. I work from a collaborative and strength based approach. My goal is to help individuals reach their highest potential by nurturing their inner resilience.
It is super important to meet with a professional that sees and hears you fully, and tailors a working approach that encompasses your needs. Therapy should not be fitting your concerns into one therapy approach, or forcing you to make changes you are not ready to make. I listen closely, and we build an approach together with your empowerment and investment in the process. My approach is warm, flexible, and motivational in nature. I want to learn about you, how you see the world, and how you interact with others. I also focus on areas like attachment, safety, and grounding in therapy. I do not subscribe to the theory that a few quick sessions will have you feeling empowered and amazing. Therapy is a process of intention and focused work, but one that I have observed is worth the self-discovery and healing that can occur. Healing best occurs with encouragement and empowerment in a safe relationship.

Our conversations will focus on how you relate to your thoughts, feelings, body and the people around you as well as to the broader world. By bringing a spoken awareness to these experiences, we can begin to uncover new possibilities and directions, especially as my education and experience has sharpened my ear to listen to how your thinking is structured. For many years, I worked as a retail manager, where I gained valuable insight into human behavior, conflict resolution, and the importance of mentoring others through life's challenges. Those experiences taught me that every person has a unique story, and with the right support and perspective, they can discover the strength and wisdom they already possess. I approach each person with honesty, compassion, an open mind, and a willingness to think outside the box. Rather than offering one-size-fits-all solutions, I believe in helping people uncover the answers that align with their own journey, empowering them to recognize their strengths and make meaningful connections that foster growth and healing. My role is to walk alongside you as you navigate life's questions and challenges. Drawing from both my professional background and my own lived experiences, I strive to provide guidance, encouragement, and a safe space where you can gain clarity, build confidence, and move forward with purpose.
