I am a queer, neurodivergent, biracial, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist committed to providing therapy that is inclusive, identity-affirming, and grounded in social justice. My practice is LGBTQ+ affirming, fat positive (Health at Every Size), trauma-informed, anti-racist, and pro-disability. I specialize in neurodiversity-affirming therapy for autistic and ADHD clients, as well as anyone who identifies as neurodivergent or experiences the world differently. I use a systems approach and draw from Narrative Therapy and Queer Theory. I believe problems occur in context and are shaped by the systems we move through—not because something is “wrong” within us. I work with individuals, families, and relationship systems (including couples and non-traditional partnerships). My goal is to create a safe collaborative space where you can explore your story, understand its roots, and reauthor it in a way that aligns with your values and lived experience. Coming to therapy is a brave choice that takes vulnerability, courage, and energy. I strive to bring empathy, compassion, and openness to every session. I value a collaborative approach where clients can guide treatment in the direction that feels most meaningful to them. Growth and change can be challenging, and my hope is that by offering a supportive and non-judgmental space, I can help clients navigate their challenges and move toward their goals. Everyone’s story is unique, and I am here to honor yours. I believe that we all deserve a safe space to grow, heal, and be truly seen. Outside of the therapy room, I enjoy spending time with my partner and two dogs.

Greetings, my name is Jacky Jaeok Kim and my Korean name translates to “pearl of wisdom” in my native tongue. I’m also a 1st generation Korean immigrant to the US, a proud dog mom, an insatiable polymath, a technology advocate, and a person of many facets with a lifetime’s worth of stories under my belt. As a former DACA recipient and survivor of SA, I carry a deep understanding of resilience and hope with me in everything I do. I have 11 years of experience in the mental health/medical field and community-based work. My journey began advocating for the civil rights and safety of individuals in the criminal justice system with Orleans Public Defenders. From there, I expanded my work to serve diverse populations in juvenile justice, education, hospital systems and more. A formative experience in my career was a summer spent fly-fishing and working alongside grizzlies in Katmai National Park, where I was in complete reverence to Mother Nature and the remoteness of the Alaskan wilderness. This eventually led me to the Yukon-Kuskokwim region of Western Alaska upon receiving my MSW, where I worked as an itinerant social worker among the Yup’ik population. This experience deepened my respect for the indigenous way of life and reinforced my life’s commitment to providing meaningful, excellent patient care and therapy in rural settings.

I work with individual adult clients anywhere in Oregon and Washington state who are dealing with relationship difficulties, anxiety, depression, trauma, OCD, family challenges, and struggles in personal growth. I specialize in helping my clients improve communication skills in relationships of all kinds. I also specialize in working with clients who are LGBTQ+, in or exploring non-traditional relationships, or who have non-traditional identities and practices of any kind. I use evidence-based tools like cognitive behavioral therapy and dialectical behavior therapy, and I listen without judging. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I respect each client as a complex human being, not as a diagnosis or a label. I'll work with you at your own pace to understand your challenges, and we'll find solutions together. All my appointments are by video or phone. I'm the therapist who doesn't need to have polyamory explained to him, who doesn't clutch his pearls when you talk about kink, and who knows queer and gender-nonconforming identities are healthy. Whether or not any of this applies to you, I'm here to help you.

I can help find relief and lasting change. This begins with the very useful concept of two simultaneous paths when struggling in life... 1- How can clients ADDRESS, or take action to remedy or lessen, the sources of their struggles? 2- How clients COPE in effective healthy ways? Addressing and coping are central in my work, and clients find this CBT approach to be highly valuable and effective.

Hi, I'm Natalie. I'm an Oregon and Ohio licensed clinical social worker who trained at the University of Pittsburgh. I am less interested in labels or "shoulds" and more interested in helping you understand what's actually going on in your life... and what might help you move forward with more steadiness and self-trust. I operate from a compassion-focused, client-centered perspective with a strong harm reduction lens. I work with people who want support around substance use; trauma, including complex or developmental trauma; relationship patterns; family-of-origin dynamics; and personal growth during times of transition. My approach is collaborative, non-judgmental, and grounded in evidence-based practices (even if our conversations feel more human than clinical!). I've worked with folks from all walks of life, in a wide array of environments - typical outpatient offices, online, and even outdoors with unhoused communities. I also have a decade of specialized training and experience working with Veterans. So whether you've worn a uniform or not, walked into a therapy office or have never spoken to a therapist before, are a pro at tele-therapy or just trying it out for the first time, I'm probably a pretty good fit for you!

Hi, I’m Shannon. I am a licensed clinical social worker providing telehealth therapy to adults throughout the state of Oregon. My practice is deeply rooted in trauma-informed care, client autonomy, and compassion. I specialize in working with individuals navigating PTSD, Complex PTSD (CPTSD), neurodivergence (including autism), as well as co-occurring anxiety and depression. When participating in therapy with me, you are the expert on your own life. I combine scientific knowledge with a humble acknowledgment that human experiences are vast and ever-evolving. My approach is client-centered and integrative. Instead of relying on temporary quick fixes, we will combine psychoeducation, practical skills, and deep self-exploration to foster sustainable growth aligned with your personal values and goals. When I’m not working, you can find me embracing either my nerdy side or crafty side (or both!), caring for my pets, or admiring tortoises—animals that remind me daily that patience, steadfastness, and moving slow is often the fastest way to truly get where we want to go.

My name is Christina Wong, Licensed Clinical Social Worker in California since 2007. I am bicultural, and fluent in English, Cantonese and Mandarin. My first job as a social worker was working in a group home for children and youth in Hong Kong. Providing family therapy with troubled teens and their families remained the primary focus of my practice for more than a decade. I also worked with adults of all ages, from young adults to geriatrics. I am humbled to witness the positive impact brought to my clients when a renewed sense of self is obtained, and the innate abilities to solve problems is fostered. This fuels me to dedicate myself to this work for many more years to come. I use an eclectic, person-centered and humanistic approach to meet the clients where they are. I enjoy working with adults of all ages. Of particular interest are immigrants or children of immigrant families to the United States.

Frequently asked questions

Why filter by state rather than a city?

When looking for online therapy, you can see anyone that is credentialed in the state. We want you to find the best fit, therefore, Grow Therapy shows available therapists across the entire state. If you’d rather see someone in-person, you can change the filter from virtual and find a therapist near your address.

Will my therapist take insurance?

When booking you’ll be asked to verify with your Member ID. However, if you don’t have any of the insurances available you can select cash. Our therapists will have their cost of appointment on their profile. Individual session costs will vary.

How does the Specialty Filter work? Can I find a therapist that focuses on a specific issue?

The specialty filter is optional. You don’t need to check any boxes to see a provider. However, fit is very important when selecting an online therapist. If you have knowledge or experience to recognize what specialties you may need.

Why use Gender, Age, and Identities filters?

Finding a provider with a similar life experience can be beneficial because it can be easier to establish rapport and potentially be understood quicker and clearer.

What happens during the first therapy session?

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs. Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
