Peter Freeburg
I’m someone who genuinely enjoys people. I like hearing their stories, understanding what motivates them, and helping them figure out where they want to go next. I’m also adventurous by nature and enjoy staying active, taking on new challenges, and pushing myself outside my comfort zone. My approach to therapy is supportive, practical, and focused on meaningful progress. I believe therapy should be a place where you can be honest about what you’re experiencing, better understand what’s underneath it, and develop realistic ways to move forward.
As a therapist, I’m supportive and approachable, but I also believe in helping clients move forward.
I particularly enjoy working with men navigating relationships, work stress, fatherhood, life transitions, or the pressure to have everything figured out. My goal is to create a space where you can talk openly without judgment while still being challenged to grow. Ultimately, I want therapy to help you better understand yourself, build on your strengths, develop practical tools, and feel more confident handling whatever comes next.
Strengths
I particularly enjoy working with men of all ages and stages of life. Whether you’re navigating marital or relationship challenges, stress and pressure at work, the responsibilities of fatherhood, or simply trying to find a better sense of balance, I strive to provide a space where you can be open and honest. My approach focuses on understanding what’s beneath the surface while developing practical solutions that help you feel more confident and resilient moving forward.
Ideal clients
Ideal client would be young adults and middle aged men struggling with their identity in respect to family, relationships, career and faith. Also working with couples navigating complex relationship dynamics within their marriage. I also enjoy working with clients looking for lasting behavioral changes as it relates to their mental and physical health. I'm also positioned to help couples grieve and process the complexities of pregnancy.
Treatment methods
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use the principles of CBT to focus on one's thoughts, feelings and behaviors. I help identify how unhelpful thoughts lead to disruptive behavioral patterns. Changing these patterns can lead to meaningful changes.
