Steven Johnston CPC LPCC-S has been a clinical counselor for over twenty years, with special training in the areas of Pastoral Counseling , having additonal experience in treating victims of Domestic Violence ; Child Sexual Abuse; Trauma, workplace issues and Marital counseling. A graduate from Ashland Theological Seminary in 1988. Because Mr. Johnston did not want to exclude religious commitment issues from the therapeutic setting, he chose to pursue his Counseling degree from Ashland Seminary after graduating with ministerial degree from the Foursquare Church of the Gospel’s, Life Bible College East. He has continued to extend his Clinical Pastoral Studies through membership and training in the American Association of Christian Counselors. To avoid excluding an aspect of life that has shown to be of central importance to nearly two-thirds of the US population, Mr. Johnston has sought to integrate spiritual issues from a Biblical point of view in a way compatible with Biblical doctrine and Pastoral Counseling. This integration as it applies to marital, family and individual issues has been found to promote inner healing as it supports the client’s own religious coping skills.

Hello, I appreciate you taking the time to read my bio and I am looking forward to meeting with you. I believe everyone is on a unique walk and will face situations they could have never prepared for at some point in their life. I have been married for 18 years and have 5 terrific children. I enjoy trying new things and some of my favorite past times are spending time with my family, working on cars, enjoying music, hiking, fishing, and adventuring in new towns. My education actually started in Mechanical Engineering but I felt called to go into the helping professions and have been volunteering or working in a helping role since 2001. My blend of education and over 10 years of experience is what makes me unique as I strive in helping others in clarify their vision and making it a reality. I specialize in working with men, couples, adolescents, active duty military, first responders, and Veterans, but enjoy helping people no matter where they are in life. I am most impactful as a counselor helping people with anxiety, depression, trauma, PTSD, school or work issues, couples counseling, low self-esteem, family counseling, gambling addiction and those struggling with grief or life changes. Again thank you for taking the time to learn a little about myself and the experience that I can bring in this therapeutic relationship. I look forward to meeting you soon!

Welcome! I'm glad that you are showing an interest in your own or a family member's emotional and mental well being. I'm Becky Hunt, though the official name is Rebecca. I have been working with children and families since 2004. I have provided many different kinds of case management and therapeutic services in my social work career. I believe that wellness includes many factors of a person's life--mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual health. Some of those things in your life might be in balance while other areas are not. You probably already have the ability to manage many situation or challenges with a combination of existing strengths and learned skills; we can add to those together. My work-joy is found in play therapy. Through play therapy child, families, and (yes!) adults can work through many issues in their lives. The best part is all the hard work doesn't feel like work, it feels like play. We learn skills by playing throughout our entire lives beginning with playing peek-a-boo; on the grade school play ground; sports and backyard games; as well as board games and card games with friends. If playing isn't for you, I also provide the traditional "talk therapy" that most people are familiar. I received a specialization in Military Social Work during my master’s program at USC and have a passion for working with those, both children and adults, who have experienced trauma. Trauma can show up in a lot of different ways and look like many things. We can work together to sort that out. In counseling, we can use a combination of CBT, solution focused, and problem-solving therapy, along with Motivational Interviewing, trauma therapies, and (yes even) Play Therapy when appropriate. Your individualized plan, developed in your words, will be a great road map for reaching your desired destination. I would be honored to walk with you along that path. Seeking help reflects the courage and drive that you already have within you. Let's get started!
