Hello! I'll get right to the point - these are the main issues I work with:
1. OCD, Anxiety, and PTSD/C-PTSD. i.e. rumination, overthinking, repetitive, unwanted, or intrusive thoughts, compulsions (both mental and behavioral), fantasy/maladaptive daydreaming, asking questions like "What if?" and hyperfocusing on the stuff that keeps you up at night.
2. CODEPENDENCY. i.e. inability to say no/lack of assertiveness, fear of upsetting others, taking on too much responsibility, chronic feelings of obligation, poor boundaries, toxic relationships. I often work with people who would describe themselves as disciplined, hard working, and responsible. These noble personality traits can have two pitfalls: 1) Being taken advantage of by others who constantly expect you to solve their problems; and 2) Being overly rigid, controlling, perfectionistic, and emotionally repressed to a point where it is hurting you more than anyone else.
3. PERSONALITY CONCERNS. i.e. lack of purpose/identity, failing coping skills, thinking, "No one understands me," wondering, "Is there something wrong with me?" or asking yourself, "Why is it okay when everyone else acts like this, but when I do it, it's wrong?"
Do any of these describe you or your situation? If so, I'd love to meet you and talk about how we can work together to overcome your struggles. Feel free to browse through my profile and if you feel so inclined, make an appointment so we can work toward restoring balance to your world again.

My ideal client is someone who is committed to the process of self-introspection and wants to be held accountable to reach their goals. I specialize in counseling women and men on self-esteem, worth & actualization. I also support clients affected by bullying, narcissistic abuse as well as those dealing with complicated grief. As your therapist, I will assist you in discovering or uncovering yourself. This might mean realizing some difficult truths about your personality and behavior patterns, tapping into your strengths, and identifying what coping skills work for you. Or, it might mean working through emotional pain, trauma, or barriers that prevent you from being your best self. In my years of experience, I have found that once a person’s authentic identity has been discovered through therapy, clients can accept who they are, confidently speak up for themselves and understand themselves with greater perspective. Usually this leads to healthier relationship choices and dynamics. I will help you to learn more about yourself and make realistic changes.

Hello My name is Kianna and I have been working in the mental health field for more than 25 years. I attended undergrad at Colgate University where I studied Sociology and Biology. There I developed a passion for Mental Health and a thirst to understand why people do the things we do. I attended the Syracuse University School of Social Work and majored in Mental Health. I have worked with diverse populations of all ages since then and came to find that I enjoy working with people who have come from disadvantaged backgrounds, people of color, women, Autists, and persons living with Anxiety and Trauma of all kinds. Trauma comes in many forms and the abuser can be a member of your family, a stranger and even your society.
As a Social Worker of color, I was drawn to becoming a therapist after my own struggle to find a therapist that looks like me. I want to dismantle the stigma that many communities carry about seeking help for mental challenges and show people that everyone can benefit from a better relationship with themselves.
I am a dedicated and caring Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Certified EMDR Trauma Therapist, and a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional in the States of Georgia and New York, with over 15 years of clinical experience in the mental health field. I specialize in the treatment of trauma, grief and loss, mood disorders, personality disorders and family relationships. I am fully multilingual and offer therapy in English, Spanish and Portuguese.
I am originally from the Dominican Republic where I first graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Clinical Psychology. From an early age I was called into the mental health field in a society where mental illness was stigmatized and a forbidden topic. This calling and life mission led me to spending decades studying Neurosciences, Psychology and Trauma Treatment. I hold a Master of Science degree in Neurosciences and a Master of Science degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, as well as Certifications in Trauma Treatment and advanced trainings in EMDR Therapy, IFS therapy, Contextual Therapy, among others . Understanding the human experience with trauma, pain and loss and witnessing how through therapy healing is possible, has been the seal of a lifelong legacy. As a psychotherapist I practice a holistic and integrative approach and work mainly from a psychodynamic, trauma informed and neuroscientific and systemic perspective, based on the evidence of how trauma impacts the body and brain, and the awareness that in order to create lasting change and heal trauma wounds we must create insight and integrate past and present while establishing a secure connection with ourselves and in relationship with our significant others.
It is now my honor to be your therapist. As your therapist it is my goal to guide you through your journey of internal growth and lasting healing.

Hi, My name is Dr. Sister Marian Mikhail Doctorate of Min., L.C.P.C. Advanced, PhD Clinical Pastoral Counseling, M.Div., LMHC, LPC, M.A. Rel. Ed. I am a licensed therapist in New York and New Jersey with 5 years of professional work experience. I have experience in helping clients with stress and anxiety, coping with grief and loss, motivation, self-esteem, and confidence, & career difficulties. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion.
I predominantly work with young men struggling with social anxiety disorder. Do you struggle with social anxiety and poor self-confidence? I know that overcoming it is possible! Many come to therapy for social anxiety because of childhood trauma and how it has manifested in their adult lives. Often this manifests in feelings of poor self-confidence, poor self-worth, and poor self-confidence. At its root, the fundamental belief of those who have social anxiety is the belief, “I am not enough.” Clients get into the habit of comparing themselves to others and it makes them feel inadequate and insecure. Over time clients begin to avoid situations that elicit their anxiety, particularly social situations. This can lead to social isolation and loneliness. Clients will present with complaints of frequent panic attacks, not having a romantic partner, not having friends, not being happy in their jobs and feeling disconnected from life. They are labeled by others as shy, quiet, or introverted. This scenario described myself for much of my life which gives me lived experience to better able to assist you. I help individuals combat their social fears and begin to live a rich and fulfilling life. I do this through cognitive behavioral therapy techniques primarily but also integrate solution-focused therapy, assertiveness training, exposure therapy, and acceptance & commitment therapy. Whether you're a teen struggling to make friends and socialize or you are an adult unable to speak up at work meetings or unable to ask someone out on a date, I'm here for you! Seeking therapy can be frightening but I want to assure you that you will be most welcome if you take that leap of faith!
